What did you do to/with your Becker today?

I cut down a tree that was obstructing an air conditioner condenser coil. Wound up missing my swing and chipping the edge against a piece of cement. Again. Resharpened the edge until the chips are basically hair thickness. Again.

Cut some flowers for my mom's birthday. Then pried thumbtacks out of a table and cut some pizza boxes. Nice little utility knife, love it!

Last night I used my 24 for whittling a marshmallow roasting stick out of a piece of firewood.

I wittled a Walnut filler plug for a new axe haft. I shaped the front filler plug with the angle disc sander. Then there was a gap in the wedge kerf about 1/8" square near the poll that I trimmed with the 9. I just love overkill!

Just started a fire with my 9, 16 and custom 11.
Used my Camillus 11, 11 mod, DPX HEST and 14 to cut cardboard for recycling, and also to get a feel for them. Cam 11 is MUCH slicier than the KB 11. And that HEST is just impressive (Rowen made).

Took the 4, 9, and 2 out back and showed a couple friends what it was like to chop with them.
One is buying a 9 as we speak, and the other is considering.

Short story, my father in law hadnt had his boat out of the garage for about 10 years. We got it out the other day and were getting it ready to go. He had bought a new gas tank for it, but it went into his plywood box differently then the old one. Basically the fuel line ran out of the box in a different spot then where the old one ran out. There was a notch cut in the plywood where the old fuel line ran through so the lid would shut down on it. We decided that we were going to have to cut a new notch where the new fuel line went through. Before I could say I got it with my knife he ran off to find something to cut it with. When he got back was almost done cutting it out with my 11 (it was all I had on me at the time) and he said to me OH you shouldnt have used your knife you could have broke it. I just laughed at with and explained that the knife was begging to do it and not to worry about a task that small breaking my knife.

Cleared a pile of brush out of and from around the old fish pond. posted the below in a July challenge thread... re-posted this way to save picture storage space on Spark's servers.

My trip this week was to that exotic jungle locale known as my backyard. :( :D

First, a look at the mighty jungle that held the best fishing hole on earth captive.

Finally, the vegetation has been removed. Alas, the many years of detritus and neglect has caused the mighty fishing hole to become completely filled with debris and natural mulch. Excavation work is scheduled for the near future. Notice the archaeological implements found abandoned in a by-gone era.

And the mighty tools used in this expedition to the hinterland....

The 6 was fantastic on grass, weeds, golden rod and giant ragweed up to about an inch in diameter.
I had to shift to the 9 when I encountered pecan trees, sage bushes, catalpas and elms. The 6 may have worked better on some of the smaller trees if I had had more swinging room to get a full swipe in. The shorter length and heavier weight of the 9 made it a better choice for cutting out overhanging limbs back in the brush.

Some hammock camping last night.

The tree was cut down before we got there but it seemed appropriate for the pic. I am sure the BK9 would have been up to the job.
