What did you do to/with your Becker today?

Cut the lawn with my 10 on my belt.....had some stuff to hack through as I was going along; Rose brachts, blackberry canes....all stuff with thorns, LOL.

Hah, I do the same thing. I hacked a butterfly bush down to size. The winter weather trashed it. It was huge but most of the branches snapped from the snow and ice.
Snagged a kayak plus gear off Craig's list. Used a 16 to cut the tie wrap off the flag tied to the end for transport.

Wait.....you have snow and ice in NC????

Nice snag on the 'yak. I love mine. Prolly should get something cheap for the kids to paddle....

Today's Gardening Tip ...

No worries.

You're suppose to severely cut back Butterfly Bushes every fall to encourage new growth and flowering. BB's only produce flowers on new growth. More new branches = more flowers.

And they'll come back twice as big next year. ;)

Taped off the handle on my 15 in preparation for mod project. Stripping the blade, but leaving the coating under the handle scales (I hope).

I finished reprofiling and sharpening my 17 tonight. It needed a bit of work as the edge was a little.... off, but it is good to go now! I hope to use it as my main blade when we head out camping this weekend, but I could get distracted with a few of the other newer blades I have now.

I've recently discovered a good batch of fatwood inside and old pine log. Said a small thing about it in my Swabbie thread over at the Kabar forum (link:http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1290056-Swabbielicious-breakfast).
I had gathered it in a plastic box, and I decided to cut the pieces down to pocketable sizes (for a 'survival' tin or something). The 11 did a good job with the help of a rubber hammer.

Already done a few pieces, obviously I needed a bigger box.

The red, smelly sweetness of pine resin impregnated wood!

Done!

I also marinated some gambas, cut up the herbs with my Opinel. Slightly off topic but oh well.

I need some advice too. I've got some pretty big knots from the pinelog, which are the fattest fatwood I've found to date. Problem: knots are hard. Knots filled with sap are harder. How do I get them to down to a pocketable size? Diamond saw? Not gonna beat on that with my knives.

Used my 9 to hack a huge branch in two and trim it down to appx 7 foot long. then used my 16 to shave all the bark off. going to do some carving on it and clean it up for my mom. she's using it at vacation bible school for a Moses staff. Should be a pretty neat project

The family and i went for a walk around Lake Nockamixon today. While enjoying the view, used my 11 to slice up an orange. Driving home, passed by an interesting eatery, Beckers. Coincidence, I say...maybe

Next time Ill snap a pic or two...need to keep my obsessive behavior to a minimum around the family

Went out to my crossbow range today only to discover several trees had toppled over during the last storm we had. I had my bk2 and some other knives in the truck, so I put the crossbow target practise on hold to get everything cleaned up and show my step son how to prep, then start and maintain a fire in a emergency using only what nature has provided a knife and fire steel.

I use my bk2 to show him how to baton and chop a 10' long x 5" diameter dried up pine into 2' sections. Then used my bk2 and other knives to show him how to baton those 2' sections into kindling and how to make feathersticks.
Then used the bk2 to baton some old oak sections I had lying around the property.

While the bk2 isn't the best at making feathersticks it will still get the job done.

Well we successfully got the fire going.

I need to get a bk7 again or a 9...cause while the bk2 is an amazing chopper for it's size I could've used the longer blade for the 2 bigger trees that were also down.

I looked for it.

Second camping trip of the season and don't know if the 24 made it out of the tent. Thought I brought it inside before retiring for the night, kiddies threw everything into the truck as we're packing up and I couldn't find it. Maybe it made it in the dirty laundry bag, I don't know. Need to go through everything that's already packed up. Hope I come across those orange handles soon.

Hate it when that happens.
Hope you find your 24

I used a bk 15 to lift a splinter out of my wife's hand. The fine trailing point on the 15 is needle sharp.

I think I need a bk 11 now.
