What did you do to/with your Becker today?

This is the "Moses staff" I made for my mom to use at VBS. It's about 6.5 feet tall.

And afterward, there was a large log leftover. I decided to process it into some smaller pieces that will light easy. Also, it gave me an excuse to use the hell out of my 16!

I used a bk 15 to lift a splinter out of my wife's hand. The fine trailing point on the 15 is needle sharp.

I think I need a bk 11 now.

I agree! That's one I don't have.

Used the 4 to sharpen my daughters pencil. Don't think any other in the line can beat it at that...

I took my BK2 on a camping trip and firstly had to show it to everyone and answer a whole bunch of questions repeated to everyone in the camp one by one as they took turns to have a play with it (BK2 or any Beckers - not a common blade this side of the pond). Then I processed wood, and chopped more wood, and more wood and more wood and more wood and more wood. I guess you get the picture that I was the "unofficial-some-how-nominated Wood supplier" (probably because the rest had crap knives or lazy) for the fire all day and evening. A very tired hand and arm at the end of it, but the BK2 didnt even flinch! Its first time giving this blade a good run from new and I was so shocked how well it held up - thing is possessed by satan methinks! There was a little bit off the edge on the curve part heading up to the point (I think it was from one of the many triers perhaps clipped a little stone on the floor or something, but outside of that not a flinch to the edge. What suprised me was a little rub on stone and ceramic on the worksharp field sharpener and the edge was back up - wow!, you've got a hellava steel there Ethan!!!

Well thats the words over, but I know how much everyone loves their knife pron photoshoots, so here are some:

Tired Hands - but a lot less thanks to nice shape handle

I love how after so much chopping the BK2 got a lovely natural camoflage look!!!!

In case anyone interested: I hate the top part of the knife sheath - its floppy unless clipped. Seeing as I dont have a teklok, I did a homemade job. I folded over the top belt-loop and secured with old couple milimetre guage copper wire I used to use as SW antenna wire that I had to hand - nice an stiff and metal coathanger would do the same, then folded over the belt-loop clip onto itself and clipped it . It can also be clipped over both parts to make belt loop exposed area a little smaller, but I found it unnecessary. As the clip folds onto itself on the innerside it never came open. Now my knife hung on my belt as if a teklok with no floppingand I could get it in and out of the sheath as desired. I guess I could add a little extra 'wire loops' and make it scout carry style.

What did I do with mine today? Pulled it as quick as I could out of the bottom of my bag. It was hiding beneath the bivvy this whole time. I thought I looked all over for it, but apparently not well enough. It's now back in it's proper compartment and all is well.

After processing a little wood with my 15 and 14 and stripping my 16, I decided to put a nasty edge on all three. They're all wicked shaaaap now.

i used a stock BK16, and nothing else, to open a coconut, with husk today.

one trick, grasp the base of the knife firmly in one fist, and use the other to baton against your hand meats, and drive the knife in, and then down enough to get to the coconut water - save that.

then RIP THAT THING OPEN with bare hand strength. yar.

dry and put knife away.

add gin to the milk. drink.

enjoy the coconut flesh with spoon...

You realize that this is merely an excuse to buy another becker? then you'll have an additional one once you find the 11 haha

True. Worst part of losing that particular one was the cool little leather sheath I made for it. And that it leaves me with only one 11. If I go ahead and get another, and then find it...I'll have to hide from my wife! :D

The path to fresher breath is BK24

I used to have a difficult time with these dang-nabbed foil packs. Not no more. En garde!

I don't know what I'll use my beckers for today yet but I do know that tomorrow I'll be using a Becker to open up a BOX OF BECKERS! haha been waiting all week for these to get in

I finally got around to stripping the worn coating off my bk2 today. I guess making the 90° spine yesterday motivates me to get it going.

My plan was to polish it, blue it, then polish it again after stripping it. However once I saw the condition of the steel after stripping it'll have to wait...Would take some serious elbow grease to do it by hand.

It'll get done sooner or later, and I'll add blue and black g10 scales for a finishing touch.
