What did you do to/with your Becker today?

I fly a lot for work and this is always one of my concerns. That either tsa or some handler along the way doesn't steal my knives or tools from my tool bag. Knock on wood I haven't had any issues within the last 8 years and well over 1k flights.
Thankfully it made it. First time I've traveled with a large fixed blade in my checked bag.

I'm getting ready to check mine yet again, I usually have 3 or 4 fixed blades in my luggage. The ones that always goes with me are my bk2, my edc beater a schrade schf14, and leatherman wave. then usually a mora companion, and a lmf2. When I flew to Alaska I had a kukri, hatchet, and saw in my luggage on top of the fixed blades. I can just see the tsa agents expression looking thru that bag lol

i did a brief workout with it. i wacked on a piece of wood for 3 sets of 50 repetitions.

I brought down a bunch of small trees with my 9. I am clearing an area over by the barn. Great for limbing the bigger trees as well.

i cleared out a buncha blackberries and volunteer saplings, mostly by chopping into the ground, and then giving them a sidewise whack with the flat of blade.

put a few chips in their too. rocks. stuff. that's abuse ;) comes right out with a file and a few seconds work and voila, close enough new edge.

used a variety of KaBar knives and a Gerber/Fiskars brush hook.

best chopped in the bunch for me, length, weight, balance, i hate to say is the Gerber Parang; steel is soft, but it's tough, and i can fix an edge with a smooth rock in seconds.

actually like the KaBar Johnson Parang quite a bit. harder steel, and i've beat on that thing. 1095cv is good stuff. sometimes i bust out the zomstro or the pirate chopper :D

oh, yeah, Becker content :) surprise, i'm using a BK7 more (the new one) as KaBar gave us one at the gathering.

mostly i needed reach today, so, length wins.

for less fine ground clearing, i'll go scythe everyday. no need to bend or kneel, and the same tool picks up and cuts. good.
