i cleared out a buncha blackberries and volunteer saplings, mostly by chopping into the ground, and then giving them a sidewise whack with the flat of blade.
put a few chips in their too. rocks. stuff. that's abusecomes right out with a file and a few seconds work and voila, close enough new edge.
used a variety of KaBar knives and a Gerber/Fiskars brush hook.
best chopped in the bunch for me, length, weight, balance, i hate to say is the Gerber Parang; steel is soft, but it's tough, and i can fix an edge with a smooth rock in seconds.
actually like the KaBar Johnson Parang quite a bit. harder steel, and i've beat on that thing. 1095cv is good stuff. sometimes i bust out the zomstro or the pirate chopper
oh, yeah, Becker contentsurprise, i'm using a BK7 more (the new one) as KaBar gave us one at the gathering.
mostly i needed reach today, so, length wins.
for less fine ground clearing, i'll go scythe everyday. no need to bend or kneel, and the same tool picks up and cuts. good.
That isn't gonna work, cause each additional rep produces an immediate hazard for bodily harm due to those ridiculously slippery handles. Think about the children people!!!!You gotta up those reps, bro, if you want to pump up some callouses.
New BK7?

I grabbed my 15 and helped cut up vegetables for a pasta salad, then cut up a lime and strawberries for some homemade ice cream.

You know I should've never said anything about not having issues...I checked mine today and the airline as of now has lost my luggage. My bk2 and other knives are out there somewhere, and hoping they find they way back soon.Packed my BK3 into my checked bag. Hoping some handsy TSA agent doesn't decide I'm not responsible enough to own such a "dangerous weapon" - along with another small fixed blade and two folders and a multitool.
That's a bummer, man. Hopefully it will make it to you soon. Most airlines can track it down pretty quickly. You know I should've never said anything about not having issues...I checked mine today and the airline as of now has lost my luggage. roll stamped 15? actually haven't seen that before - sweet
Nice stonewashing, slasher!
Gassy, that looks really nice. I just got a Ken Onion WS the week before and put my 11 on it to touch up the edge after it came back from the crawdad camping trip:

Hot DAMN the 11 is sharp now! Afterwards I got out my dremel and some small files and put jimping on the spine towards the grips as well as a couple lines on the tip.
Also sanded down the guard a little too to make the edge smoother.
Basically I got a hair up my arse and just went to town on it, haha.

Unfortunately, the work is pretty rough looking and not exactly clean by any standard. The positive side is that the jimping feels good so that's all I was really going for.
Also, it was the first time I ever tried to do that and I learned a couple things on the way.
Prepped my mixing stick with my Cam 11 for epoxying new scales to my 15. Also opened a couple beers with the 11. It's handy for that.
Hopefully this makes sense:

You make those Granite? Wouldn't mind seeing the finished product, they look good from what I can see.
