What did you do to/with your Becker today?

Stripped one.

Since this was posted right after a couple food pictures I spent a minute trying to figure out what the heck you were cooking before I noticed the 'stripped one' at the bottom.

Yeah, my wife says I'm real observant like that.

While I was procrastinating on some yard work today, I rigged up a piggyback system with my 4 & 14, an altoids tin, and some ranger bands.

Made a veeery rudimentary atlatl with duct tape fletching using my 16 yesterday. Loads of fun :-D

Whilst everyone else is out there performing outdoor feats with there Beckers I used my BK14 to open a box. Not even a manly man box, but for honey do box chores. :)

I sharpened up my BK24 and Mini-Grip using the Sharpmaker. I also stropped them using a piece of scrap leather I bought recently. I cannot afford an official strop and compound right now. This piece of leather stands in nicely.

I sliced some potatoes for dinner.

And I ate them. No fancy tonight.

Went camping, got it dirty and not as sharp. The parangatang got more use, but that was only becaus it hadn't been used before.

How is the handle on the Parangatang? I would think that sub-hilt could get in the way.

Well, it's no Becker handle for sure, the choil is big enough for 3 fingers but the palm swell is situated where the best grip is with 2 fingers in the choil and 2 fingers behind it on the rest of the handle. I could chop with it just fine, but my index finger would sit almost past the front of the handle on the choil enough to sometimes be resting only on the metal, which without gloves makes it less than ideal. I used gloves and had no problems, but I'm wondering if there are custom handle scales out there to improve comfort.

Here's a shot of the swell and comparison shot to the BK9:

Went for a little hike today and used the BK32 to remove some branches that were in the way.

Day off? I'm a little jelly, all those beers in the daylight. Although, the PBR looks wildly out of place amongst the others....

Did the same thing I do almost every day: cut up an apple with my 15 and the Brie was no match for the necker. The little twist on the formula was that I also used the necker to cut up some smoked fish that had some pretty tough skin. Had to be careful as I was doing it in my lap....

That was actually Sunday morning cleaning up from the night before and getting the fire going again. There were about 8 unopened so...it started up again and we ended up leaving about 8pm lol
