What did you do to/with your Becker today?

More squirrel cleaning and the bk11 provided good camouflage for an extra goopy squirrel head.

Cleaned another squirrel with my BK9 mostly to take a jab at an acquaintance who has been giving me grief about cleaning them with my BK11 on the grounds that it is too big.

As a bonus, I took this one with my least appropriate firearm.

Lol - I've been trying for a while to get one with that mini revolver. Took another one today with a more appropriate weapon (Ruger American Rimfire) and processed it with a much more appropriate knife (BK16).

I used my 11 to "cut" brie and spread it on Triscuits, like I do many days.

G-Kahn: What kind of squirrels are those? Too big to be red squirrels, and the wrong color to be gray ones.....

....and maybe you could share a recipe with us one of these times, hmm?

GK...you should start your own thread lol, that'd be bad ass!

Just got an 11 today. Trying to PCB etch the stamps so I can strip it but it seems to be going really slow or nothing at all...I'll keep at it and see what happens...

Actually, that is a red squirrel. Our fox squirrels are easily twice that size, our grays are maybe 1.5x the reds.

As to recipes, we like them pan fried in olive oil with some salt and pepper. Other than that, we also like them in chili, stew, and fried up with potatoes and onions.

Dang it - I'm hungry.

Hah, funny you mention that...
I've yet to attempt that method and I considered it. Started to look up the tutorial and everything. Then I saw the chopstick mod thread and remembered I have the PCB etch and haven't tried it either. This seemed easier so I just went that route...

Not bad...I'll use paint today instead of sharpie to fill it in. You can see the depth in the light spots.

Satisfactory results overall...
If I need to do this on a Blade area I'll try electro etch for sure...

Tried that method with my ffg 16, and I believe came out good, but instead paint I used black nail polish, removing the excess with a box cutter blade.

Ahhh yeah, came out nice and dark...great looking 16!

This worked better than I thought. Def deep enough and crisp lines...

Out at the horse farm today...

Nothing earth shattering this time. Just spent a while making big sticks of wood into small sticks of wood with the old BK11.

After splitting more kindling than was probably needed for the time being, the 11 no longer looks like the unloved, unworn sibling of my bk14.
