What did you do to/with your Becker today?

At the inlaws with big plans but pap didn't want anyone disturbing the deer they plan on slaughtering in a day or so. I'll wait til I get home to split some wood with the 7 and start a fire with the little kit I keep in the front pouch. Target practice is another story, another day, another week, another month.

Trimmed a tree with my bk11.. (just a small branch hanging low over the driveway) and carved some sticks for dogs and marshmallows.

How do you like it, just got mine and not sure if is just me or the blade is too light ,perhaps I'm used to the beefy feeling of my other knives.

Sry, been away for a bit. I love the 5. Didn't know if I would at first. Yes, the lightness of the blade takes some getting used to, but the knife wasn't designed to be a chopper and isn't really for wood processing at all. Not saying it can't handle the job, but there are others much better suited. However, for food prep and general tasks that require a much more thin, agile blade, the 5 is AMAZING!

Practiced sharpening with a mouse pad and some 800grit I had laying around...wow!
Taped the paper to the pad on a clipboard. This will probably become a permenant part of my sharpening kit so I'm brainstorming a better setup. Maybe a strip of mouse pad glued to a board or something firm with clips on each end for easy swap of paper.

Can always use wood to glue mouse pad to make notches on opposing end of 2x4 to tuck the paper into and use a wedge to keep it there and tight over the mouse pad...have seen videos of guys doing this on the tube.

Went to the quinceanera of my sister's housekeeper's daughter in Houston last night. Somebody goofed and bought DOS XX without the twist-off caps and THEN compounded the error by not bringing a bottle opener. All the other beer varieties had twist-off caps or were in cans.

My BK11 saved the day, er... night, for a while until someone from the family drove to a store and bought a bottle opener. I think I may have made a few BK11 sales last night. :D:D

Demonstrated batoning to my dad with my 9. Thinking about him using an axe to split fireplace kindling indoors was making me worry.
Also fondled all the Beckers at the cabin: 9, 5, 2, 16.

Good save Zz!

My 11 had a similar experience this weekend but not to the extent of yours I'm sure.

My Ka-Barley lives in my EDC bag for moments like yours. It has been equipped with a long neck lanyard so the ladies can come by and use it at their leisure or call upon me to do so :D

Most good beers have pry caps witch is why most good men have a way to open them.

Softened the swedge on the 7...

I'm thinking it's about time to strip...
What do y'all think?
