What did you do to/with your Becker today?

How did you get them to make dinner? Especially the popsicle one you mentioned.....I mean the one in the picture you obviously used mind control (although I think maybe too much, as it's bleeding from the ears - damn, mind control is tricky....), but from cryo straight to the galley? How did they even get their hands/paws around the Becker? Plus, I don't trust squirrels around the stove; they have the attention span of a....SQUIRREL!....what was I going on about? Oh. Where is the picture of these guys using a Becker? I'd really like to see that.

I know I can't be the first to do it this way, but I modded my Remora – removed most of the finger guard to make room the index finger. Now almost a full three-finger grip for me. I also convexed the edge and squared off the spine.

Yeah, nice work on the etching!
I've been thinking a lot about it but cannot for the life of me decide on a design/pattern.
I'm using PCB acid. Tested it out on an old hickory with a sharpie and it worked. Now to find something to put on a Blade...
Ideas anyone? Or where to look for ideas? Looking for something simple.

Lmao. Squirrels can be crafty little bastards for sure!

I impressed one guy with my BK9. And then later I lost my new BK7 when my little sister claimed it for herself.

Another Becker fan in the making.

Sorry, I just don't get it! Bought a BK7 Immediately wrapped the slippery grip with hockey tape. Now the velcro is too short to hold the knife in. Can't wrap my head around the big love of Becker's. Ya'all do nothing but customize them! Why don't ya just buy a knife that already has all the features that you want? Tops makes anything you could want!

If you manage to snap the snap closed and leave it for a day or two the nylon will relax and you will notice it's easier to snap and unsnap in the future.

That's besides the point however, if you remove the grip tape and actually use the knife you will notice the way the handle is designs it locks into your hand and actually isn't slippery. As for everyone modifying their knives when they get them, not everyone does. The majority of my Beckers are stock because they actually work that way.

Because Beckers are kick ass knives, at an excellent price point, that's why. Modding is fun to do. Not liking the original designs has nothing to do with it. I modded a BK2 into a clip point, then bought another 2 because I like drop points better. It was more of the challenge to me, besides just plain ol enjoying the process.

I have used the "slippery" grivory with sweaty hands countless times. I have never had one slip one me, never. It was created with that smoother texture so there wouldn't be any hot spots. The Becker grips have some of the best ergos out there as well.

You have to look at Becker knives a little differently. They are awesome for two main reasons, first they're a user's knife and can take a beating without beating up your wallet. Also they're more like a system, you get what you need to start using the knife for pennies compared to other blades in their performance category. Then, as funds permit, you can pick your favorite flavor out of the myriad of handle options. Then if you need or want, find the best sheath design for your purpose and go to town. Eventually you end up with something that costs the same as other high end blades but you built it to suit your exact needs and wants without having already fronted the extra for handles or a sheath that may not be PERFECT for your uses. This is why I love Becker knives.

First of all, the thread title is "What did you do to/with your Becker today?". So....if you did nothing with it, or don't own one, or have nothing constructive to add on-topic - then this would be the wrong thread to post in.

Second, and most important: IT'S THE BK&T SUBFORUM! As such, almost all of the discussion here, not surprisingly, involves - and revolves around - Ethan's very excellent designs. Sharing what we do to them and with them is the very reason WHY the vast majority of us are here, in this sub.

That said, I'm not hating on TOPS. I've got a few......as I do of some other manufacturers, as well. NO knife company has "everything I could want". But the Becker line comes pretty damn close.

OK, so it wasn't today, but Wednesday while I was waiting around for my customer to show up, I used my DMT Aligner to rock the edge on one of my 14's. Factory grind lines have been eliminated.
