  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What did you rehang today?

Vintage Collins 3lb head on a 28" House handle = I'm lovin' it. There's just something so perfect about revivifying an old axe and putting it to use for the first time in an unknown number of years. Especially in the snow.. in the middle of April. Thanks for allowing a guy like me a place like this to share!

What's up with your hand?

It got sucked into my bench grinder with a wire wheel on it. I always wear my leather gloves and safety glasses but I was in a hurry. The wire wheel caught the inside of the eye on a Woodslasher DB and sucked my hand right in. Would you believe I have a degree in safety engineering and I am a safety director? Haha needless to say I have gotten a lot of looks.

I did that once, wasn't a wirewheel though, that sounds like it really sucked bud.

Is that red handles tool a scraper? I just was given the same looking tool by my grandfather. I will have to look at the maker. It’s red and the same shape as that with white lettering.
Yes sir, it's a Red Devil paint scraper. One handy tool for shaping, and removing file marks from handles. They are also the fastest way I've found to remove lacquer from new handles. I keep a file handy to sharpen the blades every once in a while or when they get dull.
