What did you use your SAK for today?

We cut open presents 🎁🎄🎅🏻

Used my Pioneer X to tighten up a couple of drawer pulls in the kitchen tonight. It”s just such a well designed and built tool.
I have one arriving tomorrow. A gift card purchase. Agonized about whether to go with the Farmer X, but in the end I didn’t think they saw would get as much use as the rest of the tools. And I’ll have a Leatherman in my back for backup.

I know what you mean. I tried a Huntsman in the past, but just never truly utilized the saw. My SAKs generally just see Urban EDC use.

I have more use for a Climber than a Huntsman here in the suburbs. That didn’t stop me from buying a Huntsman with plus scales though. I have to admit I am an SAK addict.
I generally add plus scales to all of my non-Alox models. Just something about having all of the optional tools.

I like the *idea* of a saw…a holdover from my youth in the country. But I have to accept that I’m just a country boy at heart.

Got my Pioneer X in today and I love it. The blade was pretty good out of the box, but it didn’t want to push through cardboard while I was breaking down boxes for recycling. A few minutes on the strop with 3 micron diamond compound fixed that. I have never had a larger SAK with scissors before (just my Classic SD), and I have to say that these are impressive. I get now why everyone raves about them. I like the location of the awl, but I don’t think it’s quite as nice an awl as the one on the back of my Tinker.

Speaking of the Tinker, once I added the Plus scales to my Super Tinker, and added all the tools, I now refer to it as my Super Duper Tinker. Really is an awesome EDC.

Pioneer X. Used the blade and scissors to cut stage lighting gels, the awl to punch holes in them. Then later at home I used the screw drivers and blade to adjust the strike plate on my daughter’s closet door. I could’ve gotten the proper tools for that last job, but I thought it’d be fun to see if I could fix it without. The blade made an imperfect but functional substitute for a chisel for that job.
