What did you use your SAK for today?

Well, I got to church early yesterday with my acoustic guitar for rehearsal before the service. The strap button on my guitar had worked loose and was barely hanging on. I thought "well I better go out to the truck where my tool bag is and get a screwdriver and tighten that up. Grabbed my keys and headed for the door. Wait! Stop! I keep a little a little Classic on a chain in my vest pocket. Yep. Pulled out the nail file and tightened that little screw right up! Saved me. Who knew...?😆

I really don't use my Wave+ all that often (the one I keep in the kitchen junk drawer) but tonight, rather than walking downstairs to get a Phillips head to reattach the handle of my Weber Q (propane grill for those who may not know) which I keep on a side porch by the kitchen, I grabbed the Wave, opened the screwdriver and reattached the handle that had dropped the screw out of one side. I have these things in my vehicles too but not being a tinkerer or looking for ways to use them, they mostly live in the glove box as just-in-case items. I do love them, however, because I like gadgets.

Sunday, I went for a very slow but fairly long woods mosey. I'm glad I brought along an EvoGrip S18. I mistakenly left a walking staff I like to use in the car's trunk. Before venturing too far, I found a proper sized hardwood limb on the ground. All it needed was a few small branches sawn off, and the bark peeled from the handle area. Both were easily accomplished with the yellow S18 and I had a confidence inspiring walking assistant to accompany me. Victorinox makes a simply fantastic wood saw and it's blade steel gets plenty sharp for light bush crafting.
Sorry, no photos (you'll have to use your imagination). I have a laptop that's refusing to accept new pics.

I keep a Leatherman Wave + in my kitchen junk drawer. Even though I have a wide range of proper hand tools in the basement, 14 steps down from the drawer, I'm amused how often I'll grab the Wave when I need pliers or a screwdriver. Yesterday, I used the pliers to help release the chain from a toilet flapper that needed replacing. Living the dream, baby...
