What Did You Use Your Sebenza For Today ???

I was at a wedding yesterday, and for some reason they neglected to provide steak knive for the prime rib..it was plenty tender, but my Large 21 was way more suited to the task than some crap butter knife. I guess my Sebbie is my formal wear knife.

My wife bought a cheapy $10 watch from WalMart. The dang thing had 3 plastic zip ties holding it in place like it was a Rolex.

Over the past week, I used my Sm Reg to score a room full of gyprock and cut a number of zip ties and rope. I also scored a few pieces of tar paper and used the handle as a hammer of sorts to reseal the lids on a couple cans of paint. Very happy with how easily the edge came back(few strokes on one of those keychain crock sticks).

While I don't exactly "baby" my Sebenza, I do carry a Superknife for the super abusive cutting duties that I run across thru the course of the day. In fact, I'm planning to post a detailed long term review of my blue Superknife as soon as I can get some decent pics taken. But I digress...

Anyways, I left my trusty superknife back at my tool bench and was out on a job site. I was dismounting a bias tire off a 16" rim. There was some kind of real thick rubber liner inside, which was strange because this was a tubeless tire. Anyways, this thick rubber liner was impeding my efforts to dismount the blown tire so I reached for my superknife only to realize I had left it back at home base. All I had was my Sebenza (which had just been used to spread cream cheese during lunch). I whipped it out and made quick work of that rubber liner. That thing cut like a laser. Reminded me of the first time I quit babying my Spyderco Chinook. I made a drain pan out of the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. The Chinook FELL through that thick plastic and cut like it was self-propelled or something. There's just something satisfying about using a tool that is top shelf in it's genre. :)

I too use my large and small classics for just about everything. For boxes I do find that I reach for my Spyderco Jester since it is just so easy to sharpen. Since it does not hold an edge real well I do touch it up about every 3 days anyway so it gets cardboard duty.

Was in a hurry this morning to get to work and once here I realized I missed a spot on my chin when I was shaving. Just ran in the bathroom, whipped out my large Sebenza, little soap and water, problem solved.

Sliced up some nice tomatoes I picked from my garden. The Seb sliced them like they were warm butter.

Used mine to cut boxes since I have moved. Polishing the S30V I have found really helps with edge retention. Damn I love this knife!

I used mine to put a lump on my head. When I was getting out of my car, the seatbelt grabbed my small Seb and it fell under the seat. I bumped my head on the stearing wheel getting it out...

Not today but; At a wedding rehearsal and no one had a knife to cut some of the cakes so my Damascus/Mammoth Ivory got to save us from an evening without cake! Anthony;)

I haven't posted in the CR forum much but I thought it would not hurt.

I took my Lrg 21 to work with me today and cut 10,000lbs webbing, a ton of shrink wrap, and my sandwich.

Bump with my last story that I used my sebenza for a while ago before I was attacked and mugged.

I used it to open a new EXK knife from Burger.

It spreads like a deamon just as well as it cuts!

I gave my small Insingo a little Sharpmaker treatment and a strop last night. The edge is now screaming sharp.
