What do us Widerness and Survival folks Carry everday?

To be absolutely accurate, I took this straight from a pocket dump. No last minute adds or changes...

This is my basic EDC, though in recent weeks its been a beater Sypderco Military or Case slipjoint in place of the Strider. Other items include a Blackberry Curve with GPS, Victorinox Explorer, and 2 Fenix lights. If I can communicate, see in the dark, cut and shoot, I'm doing ok. For a long time I have tried to carry the smallest or lightest items that do the job.

It depends if I am going to be away from home for 5 minutes or 5 hours. But generally speaking, my EDC is:

Left Pocket: Keys w/ Victronix Classic on keychain

Right Pocket: Motorola Krazr, Carmex, Spyderco Manix

Right Rear: Wallet w/ CC and every once in a while some $$

Left Rear: Empty or paper with notes

Longer than a couple of hours and I include a backpack with a Busse Game Warden, Gatco Sharpener, about 60' of 550, and sometimes a Glock 17 IWB.

I am hoping this is all going to change next month with a new job though. I am also following that Maxpedition thread pretty closely and may add on of their products to my EDC.

Spyderco Military on my right front pocket
Small Fenix light on my key ring
Bic Lighter or Zippo Slim
Pelican Pen
Wallet with credit card bottle opener...
Motorola Rzr
nothing really special but it works.

This was my Holiday's EDC :D

For my more common minimal EDC, I always have:

Marathon GSAR Watch
Oakley Half-Jackets
Hat (Fleece watch cap, Filson Packer or ball cap)
At least one folding knife (lately it's been either an Emerson or Spyderco)
Burt's Bees chapstick (always!)
Swiss Spirit multitool (or the SAK Farmer)
Space pen
Either a Windmill butane lighter or the little peanut
Fenix P1D LED, or if just pocket carry, it'll be the little AAA LOD
Off duty, I'll have a pistol
Crackberry

HEY, you must be single i see money in your wallet:p:p what..:eek::eek::eek::eek: 2-100 bills your my hero;)

I don't pack a whole lot around in terms of ACTUAL EDC.

Generally a Vic Farmer,
a Nitecore Defender (the single AA one) and
a fixed blade (usually a Gene Ingram Lacer these days.)

But I also have truck gear in the 4runner and depending on what I am doing, I might have a book bag with me that has a Supertool 200, a couple of liters of water, a Surefire P6 Defender, and about 6 Eat-more bars. Also safety glasses, a larger fixed blade, and spare batteries. But that's not true EDC gear for me.

I work in an office also, so my sharp and pointy quota is low, but my car holds my ready bag and is less than a 3 minute walk away.

- Spyderco Endura 4 Wave is my EDC, but the clip broke and I need to order another one :(
- Benchmade Griptilian 550HG is replacing it right now.
- Leatherman New Wave on the belt.
- Leatherman Micra on the keys
- LED light on the keys, but I need to find a good pocket torch :(
- Wallet + keys
- Timex Expedition Watch with THE BAND
- Blackberry Curve

And most important...

- Tube of Burts Bees lip balm

What is that fixed blade? Looks very nice!

It's a Skifa Scandi by Charles May; charlesmayknives. His handles are thinner than most and his wait times are long but he makes great blades though!

On me: SAK Farmer (today the orange one) with Photon Freedom light always in my front pocket.
My daypack which always goes with me to work has a small emergency kit with a Skeletool, RAT Fire Starter with tinder in the handle, a Surefire E1e, and small first aid kit, half a pad of Post-It notes and a pen and pencil. And cellphone.
Both vehicles have a backpack stowed in it with warm clothing, various flashlights, SAKs and fixed blades (Koster Bushcraft today) and Nalgene bottles stuffed with all sorts of emergency foods.
As is obvious I have been reading this forum too much. I never used to be this way...:o

Ok my EDC has changed today so here is the newer version. Spyderco Native, Vic Farmer, Billfold, keys with Vic Classic, Cell phone, Bandanna, Swiss Army Watch, Skoal, Small Bic Lighter. Farmer on my belt in sheath and Native clipped to my right front pocket. I wear BDU pants all the time so I could put more on me but I hate carrying alot.

Finally finished mine up, its carried in a Maxpedition lunada and in MAH pockets!
