What do y'all do for a living?

Currently stationed at NAS Pensacola as a student naval aviator. Hopefully in a little over a year it'll be naval aviator. I used to design and screen print my own tshirts for music festivals while attending UGA as a fine arts major. Dabbled in serving and bar tending also.

I'm a 4 year gunsmith(26 now), I worked retail jobs from 16-22, started/stopped college 2 times, couldn't find a major I liked. Went to gunsmith school, now I'm a skilled laborer making more money than my friends with masters degrees. 10-12 hours/day 7 days/week but it keeps me swimming in guns, knives and cars. Only thing I don't like about NE is that I'm a "yankee" to everyone here(I'm from Pittsburgh originally).

If any of you hogs need any gun work in this part of the world, LMK.

A Yankee?! I hope you clarify and tell them that you're in fact a 'yinzer :p Where are you from in Pittsburgh? I was born and raised there.

I'm a full-time student at The Pennsylvania State University and a semester away from getting my undergrad degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. After that it's vet or grad school for me.

To make money I am an assistant manager at a county pool but have also worked in a cabinet shop for 2 years and a pizza shop for 5.

@halveye I like when people take unusual routes. Thumbs up.

Also really fun hearing everybody's background. I like the variety in here.

State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation..starting my 27th year!

Licensed Civil Engineer with a focus on structures. Work for a consulting firm so I get to see a lot of out of the ordinary problems that other engineers don't want to be bothered with.

Wow you do EXACTLY what I want to do! So cool. Any advice for a 20 year old future structural engineer???:D

My degree is in Minoan Bronze Age archaeology......real useful:thumbup: I have been working since I was 13. I've done a bit of everything from cutting tobacco to delivering pizzas. I worked tech support while I was in school to finance beer, cigarettes, and gas. I've been in medical equipment and software integration for the last 14 years. I dabble in guns, knives and raising a 2 year old. He's cool, I hate the rest of it. :)

I'm the manager of a BBQ restaurant, but I'm aspiring to become a lotto winner or trophy husband. ;)

I've worked a wide variety of jobs, but after a decade of sitting behind a desk I am currently working as a truck driver and equipment operator. I love it! My back used to hurt all the time, but hasn't bothered me in the three years I've been doing this.

And I also served in the Marine Corps; two years as shipboard security and two as an anti-tank gunner.

I am a Polymer Chemist for AkzoNobel Packaging Coatings, going on 35 years now. Our company makes coatings for the inside and outside of food and beverage cans. Our group does polymer (resin) synthesis, cooking new and improved resins to use in our coatings. Some days I get to play mad scientist in the lab, but more so lately sitting at the computer as the Project Technical Lead, coordinating activities in product support and moving new products into manufacturing.

14 years in the Navy and the last 14 flying left seat for a big Texas based airline that likes peanuts. Love the picture ResinGuy. Kind of frightening though.

Pharmacist in a hospital for almost 8 years. In a retail pharmacy for 6 years before that. Sold our house in the evergreen state in March and bought one north of Dallas since 3 of 4 daughters and 6 of 7 grand kids live there. My wife and dad are living there and I'm still in Washington while looking for the right job down there.

I work in a shipping department specializing in the production and sales of restoration quality antique tractor parts. I put parts in boxes all day and all night. Postal Shipping and less than truckload shipping is my department. And I love my job!

Deuce Bigelow but without the gigolo part. I set up and maintain aquariums. I work on tanks for some famous people. If you have seen the show Tanked you know a little of what I do. Actually I take care of the tanks that those guys set up in the SF bay area. I was going to school to be a marine biologist but found that I make more money owning my own business. I also own a coral website. We grow and sell live corals for aquariums. People online always think my real name is Al. It's not. That's just a play on Algae Blenny. It's a fish.

Interesting thread!
