What do you Emerson forum regulars do for a living?

A lot of folks with interesting jobs! I am a financial analyst for a company that makes brake systems for the powersports industry (motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc.). Cutting chores are the opening of packages, lunch duty, etc.

I wore many hats during my working career but the one I that sat on my head the longest & was the most fun was Freelance Still News Photographer. Aka SNAPPER.

Got to work for most of the large News magazines in the U.S.A. and many overseas where they had a free press. Now today most folded, or gone to Internet versions only. The internet kill the the news, consumer , and how too magazine like popular science. As who want to wait to find out a secret recipes of El Pollo Loco Chicken, when you can search on line

Print News is dying fast, the internet is faster, most big cities that use to have 7 or 8 daily newspapers are luck to maybe still have one. Los Angeles County, CA in the 1960’s has a many a 12 daily newspapers. The old LA Times & Herald Examiner did a morning and afternoon edition. Times have changed.

Retired in 1997.

I absolutely HATE that print newspapers etc. are going away.

I have been using the internet since before most people even knew what it was, but I still want to read a printed newspaper every morning with my coffee.........

Well, my machining job decided to let me go about two weeks ago. I was let go Friday, and by Monday had a new job, starting out with a Gunsmith. Honestly I'm in my dream job now. I get to fondle guns all day, and did I mention we reload our own ammo? Plus, carrying a gun is mandatory.

Retired crime scene investigator (CSI) after a split career in SoCal with Los Angeles PD and Orange County Sheriff/Coroner. Designed and built a high speed CNC router to fill some free time. Acquired some CAD/CAM skill that now allows me to participate in the niche of scalesmaker/craftsman. Commanders, Mini Commanders, and CQC-7's are always within easy reach on the work benches...
