What do you guys think of the S110V PM2 Blurple knives?

Thinking hard about ordering one. Never had a Spyderco knife. Love the Blurple handles... Please tell me your inputs/thoughts?!

I like mine, the s110v seems to hold an edge better than anything else I've used and the knife itself is extremely well built and solid. For the $150 they go for it seems like the best deal among the spyderco lineup besides the VG10 delica

So far, so good. Ive only had it for a week, so not exactly enough time for a long term review. Initial impressions are high though. Ive carried it 6 out of the past 7 days, and with normal use, its just as sharp as the day it came. I was hesitant about the blurple scales at first, but they're growing on me.

1. It's a PM2. ('bout a zillion reviews for you to consider many perspectives, if you haven't handled nor used one)

2. Great steel, S110V. Takes and holds a great edge; not prone to chipping nor rolling; corrosion resistance fine (check your needs based on what you cut and your working/handling environment)

3. Blurple. Maybe Blurple. Or Blurple. Depends on the light. Personal taste. If you don't like it initially, it does seem to grow on you--but not universal, of course.

Great knife, great price with a premium steel.

I absolutly love mine. I got the Manix LW last year shortly after they came out but never really used it much. Scored a PM2 in January and it hasn't left my pocket since. I'm a sucker for blue and love the scales. The steel didn't seem to be all that different when I was just stropping the factory edge but since I've reprofiled it I can't tell the edge has degraded at all and its going on 2 weeks since the reprofile. Had to pick up the G10 Manix since I love this G10 color so much but the PM2 is my daily user right now.

The blurple pm2 is a very nice knife and S110v is an interesting steel. Edge retention is quite good but it is a little harder to take to high level sharpness and a bit more work to reprofile than most steels. I have tested s110v extensively in a harsh salt water environment and it has proven to be more corrosion resistant than any steel I've ever used other than nitrogen steels like H1 and lc200n. If you like the color and want a very stainless steel with great edge retention then this one's a no brainier.

Like everything about the knife except for the color of the scales. That part isnt for me. The rest is right on.

Unless you re good at sharpening knives and don t mind the work, the s110v steel can be hard to sharpen. The pm2 with s30v is easier to sharpen and holds an edge for a long time, though not as long as the s110v. Some might prefer a knife that isn t so hard to sharpen. Just a thought.

I just got in my 110V PM2 and it's fantastic. The PM2 is a great knife already, pair it with 110V and then if you love the color of those scales then it is a perfect match!

I haven't sharpened mine, yet; but I've got diamond stones and a KME, so I'll give it a whirl when the time comes.
I don't mind the color, but I don't like the g10 on the PM2. I already knew that, though, and had replacement scales waiting by the time the knife arrived.

If I score an M4, I'll probably pass along the 110v...unless it somehow makes itself a keeper.

I don't know enough about 110v to have an answer to that....but I like M4, and will likely choose to carry that one.
TBH, I only bought the 110v to distract me from the waiting.

Gotcha. I'm trying to decide if I want the M4 (eg. wait for it to come out then see if I can even snatch one) or pull the trigger on an s110v.

I also like M4 quite a bit, but I like the rust resistance of 110v when compared to M4.

I'd like to try m4. But, if it's benefit is toughness, for this knife I like the edge holding and corosion resistance. Summer is coming up, PM2 might be spending a lot of time in sweaty pockets.

I'm very happy with my PM2 in S110V. I think the color is nice, though I'd prefer foliage green or something more neutral. I might not want this steel for all of my knives, but I'm very happy to have at least one example. The PM2 is a great platform for it. The Native 5 Lightweight also. This has little to do with function, but I really like the way Spyderco's satin finish turned out on the S110V blades. It's a little different in look and texture from the softer steels.

^ Yes, I think the finish on them is nice as well. They did also have very nice factory edges.

yeah there isn't a whole lot of moisture or precipitations here in California but I do spend a lot of time near the ocean, I do a lot of physical activities (sweaty pockets/hands) and I'm not always good about cleaning my blades before putting them away.

All the M4 knives I currently own have coated blades so I don't have to worry too much

I like the blurple color, especially with my purple deep carry clip from Casey. The stock chrome clip was a big turnoff, it looks more serious now and sits in the pocket better. I want the m4 as well and am very attracted to the Jade scales. I don't see the m4 being any more useful than the s110v besides Probably being easier to sharpen without diamonds.
