What do you guys think of the S110V PM2 Blurple knives?

I haven't needed to sharpen any of my 110V knives yet. They are still relatively new, but unlike many factory knives, these had fantastic edges and cut really well. I do have a wicked edge system for when the time comes.

I really like the Blurple G-10 and I really, really like S110V. It's amazing stuff, especially compared to the steels available when I was a kid!

I like the blurple color, especially with my purple deep carry clip from Casey. The stock chrome clip was a big turnoff, it looks more serious now and sits in the pocket better. I want the m4 as well and am very attracted to the Jade scales. I don't see the m4 being any more useful than the s110v besides Probably being easier to sharpen without diamonds.

That's about right. M4 is a bit easier to sharpen and a bit easier to get to very high levels of sharpness (hair whittling, etc). It is also tougher but that doesn't matter much to me on a knife like this as s110v has shown itself to be plenty tough in my use. S110v has a bit of an advantage in edge retention and a huge advantage in corrosion resistance...corrosion resistance is best in class, even amongst other stainless steels. All that said, I still have a slight preference for m4 in an edc knife but that mainly has to do with my sharpening routine. I like to do regular touchups, at least every couple of days and keep that hairsplitting edge. I find m4 a bit easier to work with and it holds that high sharpness a little better IMO. If I sharpened my knives once a month (or less) and used them into lower levels of sharpness then s110v would start to show its advantages more.

How's the M4 on your custom Bradley doing down there...?

Personally, I love my Blurple PM2. It's purely a collectible for me at this time, because I still see no reason to use it over my reground S110V Manix 2 (which is a supreme slicer) , but it's a fantastic knife and I think it will rank right up there with the BBS blue M390 PM2 and the upcoming BHQ M4 PM2 just in terms of pure awesomeness, if not collectibility.

This is exactly how I feel. My blurple para2 is a very nice specimen but I still prefer my CTS204P, S30V and Elmax versions a little more. I am a skilled sharpener with adequate tools but I still find that for EDC purposes I prefer easier to sharpen steels. I have 5 knives in S110V and have extensive experience with it. The M4 Para2 should become my new favorite if it performs like my other knives in M4.

Why would a regular production knife be collectible, especially one which is sure to sell like hotcakes?

If it sells like hotcakes, won't a ton of people have it in their collection...?
I'm a big fan of S110V, so maybe I put a higher value on it than you do, because I'd much rather have S110V over any of the other options, except maybe M390 / CTS-204P.

I'm looking forward to the M4 like everybody else, but it's gonna be a feeding frenzy...

Yeah, I see what you mean. When I hear collectible I usually think of things that go up in value. I guess people collect all kinds of things that don't. I don't collect anything but I do hoard a few things. ;)

I don't think it will hit $300+ like the BBS blue M390 but I think a lot of people will want to get their hands on it.
First (and second?) round of them sold out pretty quickly....

It may not be my favorite Para2 but it does get carried and it is loved and I am glad I scored one from the first round. :D I have been carrying S110V since the 2013 forum Native and MT18 came out so I guess it isn't the new new for me anymore and a little of the awe has wore off. :) It is a unique steel and it is surprisingly stain resistant, surprisingly tough and holds an edge very well. I used my S110V mule to bone an elk out in the woods by myself and have a pretty good idea of what it's strengths and weaknesses are. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...after-some-extended-use-(hunting-pics-within) I really enjoy sharpening and don't mind doing very frequent touch ups so steels that are easier to sharpen are good for my EDC needs. I keep a few different pocket stones in my truck and will even touch up on my lunch break if I am bored killing time in my truck. There is no doubt in my mind why S110V is as popular as it is and many will choose it as their favorite. Sharpening ability, sharpening habits as well as the individuals acceptable level of sharpness all being a big part of that decision.

Now S110V and Super Blue together, that is the best of both worlds. :D

I borrowed my sister's blurple PM2 and it's beautiful but doesn't really do it for me. For larger knife, I like the HAP40 stretch.

The blurple Manix is tempting, but so far I've resisted.

The blurple Native is the one I'm waiting for. Any word on when it's dropping?

The PM2 sure is purdy, though:

I'd really, really love to see something, anything, a sprint perhaps, in a rich red or a dark maroon G10.

you think M4 will perform better than 110v on this knife?

People have done comparisons of S110V and M4. In a somewhat scientific test, cutting a specific material, the S110V blade did better. I did a less scientific test and M4 did better than S110V. So far I like M4 but I have trouble taking proper care of it.

+1 How about a cherry or candy apple red?

I agree, but there's also RIT dye.

I own both, and I like and carry both. I always felt that the Manix2 was a good work knife and the PM2 was a good EDC knife. In reality maybe there is no difference in actual use. I am interested in the upcoming M4 PM2 version myself, if I can get one.

You, me, and everyone else who knows that an M4 PM2 is coming.
I have yet to encounter someone who knows about it and doesn't want it badly.

It's gonna be pretty ridiculous when it drops. BHQ exclusive?? Oh man.... Gonna be a busy day on this sub-forum when it drops...
