I see a lot of pics and talk about guys that claim to carry four knives, two guns, and three flashlights every day but I just don't buy it. Unless they are Police or military, why would you pack so much junk around every day?

So, what do you real people carry everyday?

For me, it is more low key but surprisingly, I have been able to get most jobs done with my basic EDC kit.

For light, I have a Photon Micro II white LED. It is about the size of a quarter and is on my key chain. It puts out serious light for close range. You can find something dropped in the dark or find your way to a light switch in the pure dark of building. It won't "blind" an attacker and can't be used as a club but it is always with me.

For knife, it is either a BM 921 Switchback at work or something like a Spyderco Military or Centofante 4 when not at work. I have a bunch of knives so it can be anything.

The other thing I carry is a Leatherman multi tool. I have a Pulse and it has everything I need is a small and light package. It has just what I use and nothing I don't. I carry it in the leather sheath it came with.

Of course I have a cell phone and keys and other mundane items but the above three are my EDC "tools". What are your's?

I have a gun in my glove box but I rarely carry it on my person.

100% of the time I have my 2 1/4" SAK Victorinox Classic on my Key Chain

30-50% of the time (e.g. not at work!) I carry my Spyderco S30V Native

Mag Flashlights are stored in the cars and around the house. No guns for me.

For probably the last 26 years, I have not left the house without a knife. For the last 15 or so years, I've always had a multi-tool and a folder on me. Today its a swisstool and a kerhaw lahar, left and right pockets, respectively, though I'll be changing to a manix when the UPS guy finally gets here. I make leather pocket sheaths so that my knives or tools are always upright and in the correct position in my pockets; the right hand sheaths always have a place for the folder and a place for my keys. I've gone through lots of models of leatherman for my multitool, and my lockblade has gone from cuda maxx to chinook to crawford/kaspar to lonewolf T2 to....

EDC rotation is always fun. Oh, my cell is on my belt, too.

Here's one of my sheaths so you can see what I'm talking about. Its a smaller one, with a pro hunter in it.

Cell phone, wallet, watch, SAK soldier, sebenza and my keys. Pretty basic but on me all the time (unless I'm sleeping). I've usually got more toys close by in the car or in my computer bag but I've never really wanted to carry more stuff in my pockets.

Keys, Wallet, Spyderco Manix, Spyderco Endura ZDP with Krein regrind, Spyderco Calypso Jr ZDP with Krein regrind. Covers most any cutting situation I will run into, and I don't really notice the blades in my pockets, except when I reach for them.

Thats what I REALLY carry on my person everyday. Once in a while I might even throw in a buck slipjoint into my pockets. It isnt all that heavy and while I probably dont need 3 knives I carry them anyways.

100% of the time:

LR--Allette brand Wallet

RR--Knife--usually Sebenza. Sometimes BM 940. Soon to be my Dozier Folder in Ivory. It is back in Bob's shop for a sheath.

LF--Mobile phone and handkercheif

RF--keychain with car & house key, Atwood XL mini-Prybaby, Lee Valley "washer" screwdriver & Miller Modded Cree Arc AAA flashlight.

Shirt pocket: Pilot Gel pen.

Right hip: Kahr PM9.

Always.

Dalton Ambi wharncliff -or- Schrade 897UH in pocket

Atwood Keyton

What is the make and color of your car? :D

I consider myself a "real person". I carry all the time, at minimum a pocket gun. If I'm up and awake, I have a gun on me, and two knives, some sort of folder, and a SAK Explorer.

If I'm going out and about away from my immediate neighborhood, I do carry two guns, in a shoulder rig of my own construction, as well as a shotgun in my vehicle, unless I'm going on a long trip, then I replace the shotgun with an environment appropriate long gun, as well as a "go bag" behind my seat if I have to unass the vehicle and move, or render first aid to myself or someone else.

Why do it? If I'm in a fight, I want to overwhelm the bad guy/guys with a storm of lead, and win the fight. It's that simple.

Does that make me weird?

Think about it, Its pretty easy to load up on knives. I carry 4 knives EVERYDAY. Yes, since its my EDC I carry it EVERYDAY>

Really, I always have a multi-tool, a SAK, a large Spyderco clipped to front pocket, and a smaller one clipped IWB.

Now, three fullsize flashlights is pretty redundant, for me. Since other people carry them, its not for them. I carry two flashlights, a 1 AA battery Riverrock, and a small keychain cheap-y.

I don't carry a gun, so I'm not gonna say anything about that....

I EDC this setup:

edcblur.jpg

[Please excuse the crappy photo]

- Springfield 1911
- Spare mag
- SAK (or Opinel...or both)
- At least a little photon light, the larger light, or xenon, if I have a jacket to put it in
- Bandana is always in back pocket
- Roll of twine is in front pocket

I carry a Vic Money Clip (mainly for the scissors and file), usually a small Vic (Spartan, Climber, etc.), and a Spyderco Caly Jr or Caly 3 (usually). Right now, sitting in gym shorts, I've got a CS Stockman in my pocket.

Wow- isn't a full-size 1911 hard to conceal?

Anyway, for me it's-

LF- Fenix L0D-CE, mini-Bic, Vic Ambassador, a plastic toothpick, and my cellphone

LR- Keys with a Photon II or III and change, and a clip knife- usually a mini-Grip, but lots of options depending on where/what

RR- wallet

LR- comb- strictly as a last ditch SD- my hairs too short (and getting too thin)

Shirt- Steel bodied pen, clip-on sunglasses (the kind that are made to go with prescription glasses- not the tacky nerd ones)

SAK Soldier.

(Technically a DAK but whatever).

No gun, no pliers multitool, no tactical folder, no PSK. Shame on me.

In my wallet:
-Survival Card; containing magnifying glass, Compass (just add water) and survival tips.
-Victorinox Swiss Card; less knife and scissors ( I forgot it was in my wallat when I went through customs and they were confinscated - I also keep forgetting to find replacements.

On Key Chain:
-Flashlight
-Whistle
-Ferro Rod fire starter

On Belt:
-Leatherman Charge multi-tool
-Spyderco Viele 2
-Cell Phone

Often I will carry a Falkniven W1 neck knife.

I work in an office and can't see myself carrying much more :)

I try to keep my knives sheeple-friendly now that I'm back at school :(

When I leave my apartment, I will always have my keys, wallet, ID, pepper spray, cell phone, and one small EDC.

Recently, the EDC has been a HK 14440 Ally, but it rotates between that, a D4 with wave, or Opinel. Soon, I'll be throwing a Caly 3 and mini-Persian into the mix :D

When I'm not at school though, I'll carry any one EDC that I have along with a SAK.
