What do you REALLY carry every day?

This is what I typically have on my person. The watch varies (the other regulars are a Seiko 'Sumo' and a Marathon SAR) as do the knives, but these two are the flavour of the month. I carry more crap in my manbag, including the wallet which is a Spec-Ops THE Wallet Large in black.

Knives: Marty Young framelock and a ZT0551
Flashlight: Jetbeam RRT-O Raptor running on an AW 'black label' RCR123a
Pens: Hinderer Extreme Duty and Countycomm Embassy
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Y Pro (kind of a BB clone)
Watch: Maratac Pilot from Countycomm

How's the RRT-01 treating you? I love my AW cells so far, been rotating 2 of them with constant use and zero issues for months now.

You close that yet? I can close the 2.5 on most days. Managed to get the #3 on a couple of occasions but it was a fairly deep set, nothing close to a credit card cert.

I closed the #4 and held a card for 3 seconds.

Okay, what do you people do for a living that requires and/or facilitates you carrying all that stuff? I'm a pharmacist, so personally I don't have a need to carry too much. Plus, it wouldn't be practical to do so even if I simply wanted to.

We don't need to carry most of what we do. I carry a lot just because there have been occasions where I wished I had something like a flashlight or a multitool. Really I don't need to have my Sebenza while I have a Swisstool but I love the Sebenza and I enjoy using it, its just man toys really.

Thats true. But being ready just in case is much of the fun. Its that sense of preparedness that does it. There are deep psychological reasons for this, but we don't need to get into that here.

The only thing that I MUST carry beside wallet, keys and cellphone is a leatherman with pliers. I deal with too many staplers to leave the pliers at home.

Keys (with firestarter & bottle opener/mini wrench), SAK, bic lighter, phone.
I keep it light unless I'm going into the wilderness.

I bow down to you sir. That is quite an impressive feat.

I'll have to post a pic of my hands sometime. I did it a little too much for a little too long. My tendons have started bunching in my hands and slowly pulling my hands into claws. Supposedly this is in part due to diabetes and over-exercising. So, be careful and don't overdue it.

I am a computer engineer and teach practical combat. My pocket gun and pocket knife I consider being prepared for a possible bad situation. My flashlight and SAK are tools that are used on an almost daily basis.

Have you tried extensor work?

Keys: Keys have become an important part of my EDC and ranks #1 over all other everyday carries.

keltec pf9 in an old faithful iwb holster spyderco persistence and a gerber firecracker

not to mention HTC evo keys and wallet

My BM 585 and my XDS pretty much every day the last few weeks. I carry the BM because I like it and frankly I don’t care if I break it or lose it I’ll buy another. It’s taken the place of a lot of other high dollar steel in my safe that used to be in my pocket.

The hat really makes it a complete package I think….

Yeah, I'm not a hat guy, I just put that in there because it had the 7.62 logo. Here's a better shot from today:
Fossil wallet, Don Hume IWB holster, Seiko watch, keys to my Challenger R/T, Para-Ordnance P10 with Hydra-Shoks, spare 14-round mag, Kershaw Vapor II, LG phone, and Burt's Bees chapstick.

I went hiking in a cave the other day. Solid rock everywhere, nothing to burn.

I brought a lighter along anyways, and wouldn't you know it, another couple had a propane lantern they couldn't get lit with matches. My lighter saved the day.

We carry stuff because some day, we'll need it. It might not be today, but what if it was today and you didn't have it?

Always these items

And then 2-3 from this photo depending on what I'm doing, where I'm going, I rotate through.
