This is just a general question. What would you like to see in the traditional knife market next year? Patterns, handle materials, blade combos, steels, shifts in business practices, etc... It's all fair game.
Personally as far as patterns go I really hope to see a production coffin jack as well as a run of 15s with a coping blade. I really hope to see more coping blades offered on two blade patterns.
I REALLY hope to see another forum knife.
I wouldn't mind seeing Bark River finally enter into the folder market. If they put the same unique handle materials and killer blade steels onto some decent traditional folders that would be amazing.
Oh, and I would love to see Case add CV to more handle materials. That jigged walnut stuff is gorgeous!

That's just a few of my hopes for the year.

I would love a 3 1/2" Sleeveboard from GEC:thumbup:
Carbon steel, with their usual selection of covers but maybe add an oval or bar shield!

I would like another run of 25s with the spear point blade. Also a run of the T.K. Cuban 53s with spear points blades. Both in the Northfield line. So 1 big and 1 small. Make them stainless please.

Oooh, stainless YESSS.

A GEC #35 splitback whittler, another run of GEC 81's.

How about a GEC #36 Elephant Whittler? That'd be fun.

Been almost 6 years since a #62 Court House Whittler.
Agree with Wilted Kilt on the #81. Abilene would be great.

From GEC I'd like to see a good sized run of stainless #82s in a variety of handle materials. A sowbelly would be a nice addition, too.

Long over due for a run of gec #66's. Maybe some more offerings from queen in something other then stag.

Oh yes! A 25 spear w/ EO in stainless.......PLEASE, TAKE MY MONEY!!!

I also wouldn't mind seeing another run of scouts/radio jacks with a clip main/cap lifter combo. A nice big English Jack would be cool as well.

Ernie I would love to see this myself.

I would also love to see Case offer more patterns in 154CM I would also like to see them offer 1095 in some of their patterns but not trappers, it seems everything they do that's a little special is a trapper pattern.

That sounds beautiful!
I wouldnt mind just seeing a scaled down version of a 79 in slimmer package.

Long over due for a run of gec #66's. Maybe some more offerings from queen in something other then stag.

Yes!

I'll also agree on those 81s. I don't really like carrying anything around 4" lately, but that was one sweet looking knife! My collection is lacking a full size stockman, so for that reason alone I couldn't avoid picking at least one up.

I'd like to see a run of GEC 55s and a return of the Case Barlow in the new Walnut Rogers Jigged Bone or Checkered Bone.

My greatest wish is a full scout pattern, based on 35 frame from GEC. Preferably in 440C. Offer some bone covers, but also canvas micarta for utility.

And while I'm on it, more 440C all around from GEC.

Give me a run of Beer Scouts with clip blades.

I'd love to see Case harden their steel a few points harder. I hate soft steel on small knives. And make a good barlow!!!

I want to see for myself a Zulu pattern with a lanyard hole, a fixed blade Zulu with a lanyard hole and a custom barlow with a spear point with a swedge and long pull. Custom Golok from Scott Gossman. Other than that, I'm not really interested in any knives.

I too would love to see a scout knife on the 35 frame. Basically a normal sized version of the Texas Camp Knife. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing it built on the 53/54 frame either.

Also, would GEC please make a Coffin Jack?!

A 3 1/2 OAL or under 2017 Bladeforums Knife. Seems it has been a while since we had one around that size.

Agree with you on the Case Barlows and the handle patterns plus some Old Red Sawcut plus their Old Red Jigged bone in all of their older patterns. Too many crazy colors and schemes coming out of them for me. But that is just an old man's opinion maybe.

From GEC : 25''s , 38's , 47's , 61's , 73's , 83's , 92's , and 77's in both Barlows and Washington Jacks plus others that I can't think of right now. Some Great Stag , some Smooth Bone , some Pioneer Bone , and some real good jigging . They can do the good jigging but they often do not. I would also like for them to offer much more of the Sabre Grind in the Clip , Spear , and Drop Point .

Thanks Erik : You got me all excited now because I realize how much I want GEC to have available and they don't have it and I have to resort to buying something else.
