What Fiddleback Forge knife are you totin' today?

That's a really beautiful sheepsfoot or wharncliffe? I'm not terribly well versed with folders. And that small coin, sterling?

Thanks! It's a sheepsfoot blade, with a Greek (owl!) Euro, a gift from a faraway friend:

Wharncliffes are very similar, but tend to curve more through the length of their spine and taper to a finer point vs. the sheepsfoot's parallel spine and edge and 'thicker' point (as seen above). Wharncliffe:

(That's not even a 'true' wharncliffe; the spine is too straight! There are many, many interpretations, proportions, etc.)

Thank you for that. I confess to not really knowing much about collectible folders. But I know what I like. I was astounded with the care and reverence, not to mention the precise details in the description. The first 4 knives I bought on BF were folders. And I'd still be brailling my way around except that I found Fiddleback Forge folks. Again thanks

Now That's a beauty and now I know what a wharncliffe blade looks like compared to a sheepsfoot. Thanks Phillip

For those who know my story. It's took me almost 2 years to decide to carry a traditional folder again!! It still makes me a little queasy. But here it is. I decided on my very 1st ZT which was also a Hinderer design. I added my coin and pic of my new fiddle to make it a legit post because I carry my coin daily.. ;)

Carrying these today but then it prompted a story.

The Asp was my primary this morning but then swapped it out for the Warthog during the classroom portion of a motorcycle course, just so it wasn't as big/intimidating. You never know how they're viewed. Anyway, one of the students was studying a photo in the book closely and then asked, "Why do instructors wear knives?" My confused response was, "I'm sorry, I don't understand the question." She says "The lady instructor in the book is wearing a knife too. Is that required for your job?" Hoping the question would be satisfied, I replied, "No, its not required or part of the job. Its just a tool." Not letting it go then she asked, "So why are you wearing a knife?" At that point, I couldn't resist so my response ended up being a quizzical, "Because I can't wear a gun to class?" We're in Texas so the rest of the class laughed but she didn't look amused. :D

I commend your patience Jerry. And now I know how the Asp sizes up with other knives!

I think that picture angle is a bit misleading. The Warthog looks bigger in that picture, comparatively speaking, than it really is. The Asp just arrived yesterday is I a digging it a bunch! Like the Protagonist, you could say "It makes you want to do bad things"

I was really tempted to reach into my backpack and pull out the Asp, Sylvrfalcen, Spyderco PM2, Spyderco Pacific and CRK Inkosi. Someone's head may have exploded though and that wouldn't look good on the course eval. lol

Anyway, you NEED an Asp! 1/8" tapered tang with Shadetree has nice heft and balance, just for reference.

Since my 4 Ospreys in as many weeks I'm definitely leaning toward the larger blades now. That Asp really commands attention. You're right I do need one!!
