It's not the temperature, it's relocating a Yankee to TX, 25 miles from the Gulf ..

Given the addl cost bog oak adds, I'd rather not soak them with sweat. May as well toss them in the ocean. Plus, it gives me an excuse in my own mind to justify getting duplicate models in composite handles or chasing after CPM154 :D

My Summer knives and Not Summer knives. lol

NOW you understand my reluctance for wooden handles for so long, and my fondness for CPM S35VN :)

I love that Idea Jerry. I spent 25 years along the Texas gulf coast...now I'm way inland. You can always come visit and bring those Bog Oak Beauties along.

Nice one

Thanks. It has a nice little patina starting to form up on the blade (it's hard to tell in this picture). It might get swapped out with the Lonestar though before the boys and I head out for the day.

Looks good. It appears you have a guest for lunch in the last picture.

I'm carrying an Osage Handyman dud in a Diomedes ambidextrous pocket sheath. I keep it in my back pocket, clipped.

The Lonestar is a great edc. I tend to like pointy :) I love the thickness and taper on this one too, and the wenge is very cool.

Several guests actually. It's part of a series of photo shoots I am working on for a blog post.

It's really hard to beat the Handyman for an edc. Great size, great ergonomics, and the lack of guard makes it work great with my lunch box, though admittedly I would love a Handyman-sized Guacho for my lunch box. I'm building a similar set up out of wood for the project...what with Bilbo being a "very well-to-do Hobbit" and all, I think it will fit in. Depending on how dudded it is, if you tire of it let me know. It's one o the models that I noticed I need multiples of when I was doing the kitchen scene Sunday with Alayna.

I see. Nice article on the blog. I like bees, they have a very important role in making things run right with all their pollinating and such. Yellow jackets...I keep my distance. I have found a few to many ground nests the hard way and learned my lesson..the hard way.

at about 10yrs old, I learned that just putting your foot over the hole is not necessarily enough... holy smokes I couldn't get outta there & get my britches off fast enough:eek: I distinctly remember crying all the way home.

Last summer my brother was moving my nephews bass boat around the yard and stepped directly on a Yellow Jackets nest. He got stung about 20 times. Almost passed out in my truck on the way to the emergency room. It was actually pretty scary. He doesn't do yard work in shorts anymore.

I had my one good experience aroun 14, while mowing the grass under one of our apple trees. They flew up my pants legs. I learned very quickly that there are better and worse place on the body to be stung...
