I will have to give that a shot some time. I am always down for improvised sharpening.

Go to bed, C-bear!
I'm eating some pizza before I go... I haven't eaten today. Well, it was yesterday now, but I didn't eat then either.

On a side note, DAMN that is one hell of a sharp knife now.

I carved this paddle out with my bk7 last year on a camping trip, stained and finished with polyurethane. This little thing hurts, my wife got me when I wasn't looking.

Fellas, this stropping on light fleece thing is no shit. It works.

Hrmmmmmm, take a fleece pant leg cut it in half long ways, stitch both halves into tubes and slip them over pack straps, you now have 2 strops and have made your pack infinitely more comfortable.

Well, I felt like crap yesterday at work, so I cut out an hour early to get some sleep. That didn't work, I got up 5 times to puke. I think I finally hot what the kiddo had from this weekend. It's amazing that at 2 years old my daughter understands that I'm sick. She brought me a Gatorade from the fridge earlier.

In better news, I get to go pick up my Council tools velvicut Hudson bay axe Friday!

Sucks that your sick. I love council tool, their jersey is my most used cutting tool probably. Let me know how you like that hudson bay, I am thinkin of getting the FSS Boys axe too.

I'm still alive.....

We got a guy in the hospital with pneumonia, so, we're down a maintenance tech, which means there are only 2 of use to keep the place running.

I been pulling 12hr shifts opposite the other guy to make sure we keep running. Tough days for the next couple of weeks. I'll be around. Time to pull the lid shut and get some shut eye....

I'm looking for someone who knows someone who's currently stationed in Germany or close by. I need someone who can relay my package to CBear's soldiers in Afghanistan. Shipping to an APO in Afghanistan is crazy expensive from here and takes up to 6 months.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gotta ask... Since there are so many things called fleece today, at least around here, exactly what type of fleece are you guys talking about?... Like the inside of a pair of sweat pants? or a toddlers sleeper (short knap)?...

I am just not up on fleece I guess. Inquiring minds need to know...

Thanks for helping the terminally dumb.

Doc

I was using 100% polyester lightweight fleece. Joe boxers to be specific. :D

Hmmmm....my wife has a ton of fleece scraps from baby blankets she has made. I might have to give that a try.

FYI - fleece pieces (.75 - 1.5 sq yard) go for about $4 - 7 in Hobby Lobby's clearance section. That'd make a lot of strops and possibly save you from having to hog tie the wife down while you use her pajama leg.

Just polished the washers on my BFC Skyline. If it was centered, it was too stiff to comfortably open and if it could open decently, it wasn't centered. So I polished the washers a bit, put some Lasnky honing oil on it et voila. Centered and smooth as butter.
The Eskabar was next to it on the table, laughing with the problems of folding knives:rolleyes:

I really wanted to grab a BFC Skyline, but in all honesty, there's nothing that I actually like about the Skyline. I've tried...a couple times. Heck, I still contemplate getting the BFC version, but would probably end up just selling it again. Give me a Leek any day and I'll be happy. Heck, let me take a good leak any day and I'll be happy.

Hope you feel better. Need photos of the CT axe. ;)

What is it that you don't seem to like on the regular? Don't own one...yet :D. I really dig the BFC Skyline though. Lightweight, my ideal EDC sized blade, smooth,... Only thing I don't really like is the pocket clip. It works, but the knife just sticks out of my pocket too much. Way too much. Got a fixed blade skyline too, which I dig too. I see a regular one coming my way somewhere in the future. But there's a BK16 and 9 peeking on the horizon too. Oh well, choices choices

College classes started today. Been gettin my academia on all day, ugh. nice to get a mental break and browse the BK&T Forums. basically im saying, thanks for doin what yall do, its keeping me sane on day one hahah!

I could never get the two I had (black / brown) centered. Neither was very smooth and getting it opened in one motion was quite difficult. I also felt that it was just a bit more of a lightweight than the Leek I always carry. A lot of it has to do with the feel in my hand, though. I'm quite picky and don't hang onto knives that I can't get a good feel for.
