What happened to the secondary market demand for these? Is it the inflated prices?
I saw one sell for aprox. 1200.00 the other day in four minutes and change.

Thanks,

Holiday season and money is tight or maybe people are just tired of paying those overly inflated prices. I laugh everytime I see someone still trying to get $400 for a cbcf or $500 for a 0600. Not that they are bad knives or anything just no need in someone making that much profit for getting on a list before everyone else. Hope they get stuck with them personally. Just my opinion.

I think we've seen this in other brands as well, the "limited" editions that people pre-ordered and hoped to double their money are not bringing as much as they used to lately. Spyderco, ZT, Hinderer, etc. don't seem to be bringing what they were a few months ago. The market in those items is fickle, it will probably go up and down. I had hoped people would be smart enough not to support such practices, but I'm used to being disappointed (Just look at the ammunition situation), but as long as the buyer is happy, I'm happy for them.

I agree the prices are crazy and why??? because u got on list maybe half day or day faster than me. Ill never pay the prices people want on some of these LEs and i think others are starting to feel same way. Hope everyone has a great Christmas

Inflated prices is not worth it especially for a production versus a custom. The ZT 0888 looks like a great knife but I would not pay over $600-$650 max. That is if I really like the pro. Knife. Secondary market values to me are usually B.S. and I do not pay attention to them.

It is insane is what it is. Ive seen the 888 up to 1200.00; theres so much more you can get for less . good luck to anyone who wants to pay that much for one; P.T. Barnum was right....

What a corny way to try and sell a knife for a huge markup over msrp.

The answers you are getting should be telling you what you need to do.

If I had one of those and was going to try and sell it for a $1000 or more, I wouldn't even bother putting it up for sale here, I would go straight to Ebay and slap a $1100 price tag on it and it will sell. Not a matter of if it will sale, but when. Way more foot traffic and much deeper pockets over there.

To many lowballers and cheapskates here to bother with listing something like that.

That's true, but if you sell it for $1100 on ebay they're going to take another 15% of that in fees between the auction and paypal, more if you list it as an auction instead of a fixed price.

Ha. I normally don't chime in on these sort of threads...the market is fickle as noted above. And to be honest I don't see much of a market for the 0888. Plus there's another run coming out, so that could be another reason.

As for paying for over priced items...I suppose karma served you right buying for buying a Kel-Tec.

Also isn't there a clause in PayPals user agreement about the seller eating the fees, not the buyer?

Your dime is going towards the exclusivity and unique design. The 777, 888, and 600 are not variants of other models like the 801CF. But it's NOT going towards extraordinary quality. These sprint runs are on par with all the rest of the production ZTs. Which is good, to be sure. But it's not that good. I don't even think the tolerances and consistencies are on par with the MSRP prices. They're appropriate for the $2-300 dollar mark, but no more, in my opinion.

Still for some 1k and change isn't as much as it is for others.

"The economy spoke loud and clear over the past few days," said Brian Sozzi, CEO and chief equities strategist at Belus Capital Advisors. "We are going to see an increase in markdowns."

One time I waited in line 6 hours for a new iPhone. The next day I walked by the same same store and there was no line. I felt pretty stupid.

Same with all those idiots fighting over the PS4s during black friday....
