Ha. I normally don't chime in on these sort of threads...the market is fickle as noted above. And to be honest I don't see much of a market for the 0888. Plus there's another run coming out, so that could be another reason.
As for paying for over priced items...I suppose karma served you right buying for buying a Kel-Tec.
Also isn't there a clause in PayPals user agreement about the seller eating the fees, not the buyer?
How much of a premium did you pay for the KSG? Trying to recoup that money?
It's a nice knife but not 1k nice. Good luck.
Your dime is going towards the exclusivity and unique design. The 777, 888, and 600 are not variants of other models like the 801CF. But it's NOT going towards extraordinary quality. These sprint runs are on par with all the rest of the production ZTs. Which is good, to be sure. But it's not that good. I don't even think the tolerances and consistencies are on par with the MSRP prices. They're appropriate for the $2-300 dollar mark, but no more, in my opinion.
Still for some 1k and change isn't as much as it is for others.
I have heard this once or twice before as well but I don't believe it. I have no doubt that limited editions aren't cash cows since they only sell a few hundred of them and the only way to make mad money is to sell many thousands or millions of something. Companies don't do anything that doesn't make them money unless they're multibazillion dollar global megacompanies like Volkswagen who can f around and get a triple double. But, ZT doesn't make any money on these exclusive designs, they just do it to show off their ability! (I've heard that a bunch)

500 pieces X 300 dollars = 150,000 thousand probably a bit of profit there perhaps? ( I don't know what they sell for but I'd say an 0888 brings at least that to the company)
You realize the amount of time put into designing and tooling these just to make 250 of each steel. Also not everyone comes out correct and is scraped. Plus the hardware on it is only for this knife and is not borrowed from other knives. And the time spent on milling these have to be insane. Especially the clips.

I think there's money made myself. I could be wrong but..... maybe I"m not.
Ah well then ya lost me. They're almost certainly making some money off these limited editions. But it's likely fair to assume that they make a much slimmer profit on them than they do on their Chinese knives with G10 and 8Cr13Mov that they sell by the bazillionton.
Agreed for the most part.
I would be FLOORED is ZT made $300 on every 0888 sold.
I'd be floored if they make $50 honestly
I only paid about 170.00 above what should be an 800.00 price tag. I am trying to recoup all the money I spent on it, because I took it from my savings acct. Never the less, my savings will be just fine either way. I'm a couple grand away from putting half down on a new vehicle. About the KSG, I can't speak Highly enough about this weapon!
