What is reasonable and legal?

Survive! would be crazy to come in to chime in any further. They have a website and a FB page so once they change their policies, they will be better served to announce changes on their own official networks. The glib activist types just need to contend with the blind fanboys to demonstrate their superior intellect and their knowledge of this industry. Had it not been for Standard78's ill conceived but benign post from yesterday eve, this thread would have remained on life support as it had been so for the last few days. Silver is fighting the good fight but for most parts, the bets have already been hedged. The good defenders and the oath keepers of the GB&U threads need not much incentive in order to enter and exit threads with full on cavalry. On a separate note, I could swear that I had managed to shear the space-time continuum with my GSO 5 and I can stated certifiably that all those theories about the 10 dimensions of the Universe, that is all true!

Yes.. the Monday sale which BTW hasn't even been going on now for some time I felt needed to be clarified for what it is.. It is not a simple alternative to the Preorders.. I just felt that would be vastly overstating the monday orders.. THe monday sales historically are just a handfull of 2nd's scratch/dents that occasionaly (hasn't happened in awhile) go up on Mondays.. But I called it a "lottery" when I meant to say they have "lottery like" odds of landing the model you want and are so sparse. The 3v models would sell out in literally seconds.
The monday sales are "B" stock table scraps thrown out to the public and not every monday.. BTW, I was fortunate enough to land a 4.7 but took some work and luck

Sorry to quote you a second time, but I thought it was interesting how quickly your stance changed since last month. Also, some who are active in this thread seemed to care about our post history.

Screenshotting posts? You're not helping your case of looking unbiased and level headed.

I'd like to leave again by stating a very obvious observation about the very essence of this thread's header:

What is reasonable is not always legal and what is legal may not always seem reasonable.

Toodles!

Silver,

How did I change my stance bud? Look at that FULL thread and context... I was able to snag a monday second. I had been trying for months and was finally able to snag one. "no fuss or muss" you recall in that thread SK people were already becoming upset at the year leadtime and I was happy to have avoided that mess by snaging a second without the fuss and muss everyone was complaining about! In fact, you forgot to post what I posted that thread just before the ones you posted..

J
quote/mlmcasual
just some points to consider to help with the frustration on the seconds before first topic..
** The percentage of Seconds is still very small compared to firsts..
** Getting a second is like winning the lottery, they sell out so fast monday..
** I was able to win the "lottery" monday and bought a 4.7 second... I am one of those lucky guys getting my second before you get your first BUT... I also have several pre-order knives from April 2015 with many more months to go before I will see them.. so the ONE 4.7 seconds I was able to win in the monday lottery is going to a good cause to someone who will be waiting for his orders probably longer then you.

I don't know why you insist on calling it a lottery system when it was "no fuss or muss".

How were factory seconds (nearly) flawless, but now they're B stock table scraps?

You're so concerned about "how I love thee" threads in the SURVIVE! forum, but you seem to have no problem praising them.

I still don't understand your intentions..... or this thread.

Did you read the posts of yours that I quoted? You are the one that seems to be concerned with who is posting here and how their post count affects the potency of their comments.

Sigh. Nobody is talking about "potency", only offering evidence that the sudden and rather vociferous influx of S!K "supporters" might not have been as organic as they would prefer us to think. Of course, excising my paragraphs from their context makes it easier to you pretend there was some other motivation.

Who am I trying to censor? Craytab's quote that I keep coming back to is that we all have the right to think what we want. We can all continue the discussion as long as we want. I just don't believe anything is going to change what we already think as individuals.

Sigh. Should I go back and count the number of times you (and about four other posters) made comments that were, in essence, claiming this thread had no point and that it should be closed/ended/"why does it even exist?!?!?" Or would that be a waste of time, because you're going to go down with the proverbial ship no matter how valid my criticisms of your behavior have been?

Now... if you buy a SURVIVE! knife, do not buy a SURVIVE! knife or ask for a refund on a SURVIVE! knife... now that could bring about some change.

Sigh. Or maybe S!K's owners could recognize me as a potential client with a reasonable amount of business acumen who knows an untenable situation when he sees it, knife enthusiast or not.

But of course, this was just another "love it or leave it" comment, a rote implication that anyone who hasn't already drank the proverbial kool-aid is in no position to discuss anything in this thread. So what's the point, in the end?

I'm done with the slapfighting. My points have been made. Not one has been addressed (handwaving and subtle insulting does not qualify in my book). S!K subforum regulars have had their say and nothing else will be accomplished here. It's up to Guy, Ellie, and anyone they might deign to hire to get rid of their epic backlog to make the next move. Or end up out of work. No sweat off my back.

Where have I insisted on calling it a lottery system? Iv already corrected myself in the past and present to say they feel Like Lottery odds of snagging one not an actual lottery system when Casinostocks rightly brought that up and iv already corrected that long ago.. why is that an issue now?

They are B stock.. I never said they were not and that's not under dispute by ANYONE.. so why is that an issue?
Mine has some scratches on it.. that's why they are seconds..Fit and finish IMO are perfect and the scratches (probably handling) that got em flagged as B stock.
I call them table scraps not because they are garbage, but because given people have waited (now over a year).. that Monday sales are not a viable alternative to getting first's as 2nd Monday sales are such low quantity and often in 20CV (not 3v), and so hard to snatch.. I used t he comparison to table scraps. Heck when is the last time SK even HAD a Monday sale?
They ARE B stock tablescraps.. you may not like my metaphors but they are fair and accurate.

Yea, I said the how I love thee thread feels a bit over the top even to me, someone that likes to heap on praise.

My intentions? call things for what they are are respectfully and honestly... Guilty as charged..
Does that offend you? have I offended you? I didn't mean to offend you. Are you annoyed because I don't "Tow the Line"
Sorry, that's not me...

I think this reply proves everything I've been saying throughout. Q.E.D.

Thanks for the explanation. I hope you get the information you're looking for.

Yet here you all are, saying the same things over and over. Pointless really.

I think it just might possibly be a done deal.

But maybe not...

Alright fellas. I've said all that I could have brought onto here.

I had promised to stay out, but I just had to step in and announce

I'll just leave it at that and I will disappear again from here...

This is seriously my last comment ever on this thread.

I had stated that I was done posting on here and I am not interested in interacting with anyone else

I'd like to leave again
Toodles!

^ I don't believe you! http://www.hulu.com/watch/291277 Buh Bye!

FWIW: you had 3 or 4 other "in closing," posts. :)

Pffftttt. Late comer to the party! I never believe myself :p

P.S. you ought to know that a true (f)artist makes at least 3 curtain calls, I tend to make about 30! ;)

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist, & thought this thread could use a little humor. I always enjoyed this SNL skit...especially the parts with Adam Sandler & the guy with his carry on luggage. :D

If your ever down in San Diego, I'd seriously like to buy you a beer & see some of these knives. Every single time I've seen one of Survive! knives come up here on the exchange, they're gone in like 1 minute!

MLM: if you think that scoring a Survive! on a Monday sale is akin to a lottery, I suggest that you don't get hooked on Nathan Carothers' products. Minutes? Please child! We are talking 15 seconds and they're gone, Gone, GONE! They make the flick Gone in 60 Seconds way too slow!

As for S!K, I think that the Mondays sales will pick up but there was none so far in June because of the leave of absence they had announced. However, they may still hold one on this Monday, but not confirmed yet. I've scored 2 off of private party sellers, one here on the Exchange and another on the "Bay". Of course they seek a premium and I don't have a problem paying a reasonable premium because I also charge a reasonable (to me) premium when I sell / flip them. Working on another GSO 5.0 old school as I personally prefer those older ones with a "field" finish. Took mea few months to learn the ropes but if you dedicate yourself, it is not really that hard of a feat. For the expedited learning curve, I honestly have to give credit to many of the subform members who were and still are extremely informative and forthcoming. My suggestion to you would be that even if you think that you are completely done with Survive! the company and would like to totally cash out, you need not burn your bridges with the subforum regulars. i personally think that the sum of the camaraderie ought to be greater than our stance on the S!K operational process. Give this some very serious thoughts as you are not banished from there and no one's ego is really that inflated NOT to dismiss your concerns out of hand. I know that it has happened before but we are not all Survive! bots!

Edit: & maybe Standard can come down too, from Riverside...he reminds me of the Adam Sandler character in this skit. :D

I am in San Elijo Hills in San Marcos already :D

I don't have a problem with you Man or anyone for that matter. After all, this is just a fun and harmless hobby and I have been in far worse "hobbies" than this... With that said, I must now make an exist from the left side of the stage before I divulge any more :o
