With no real parameters in shape, size, or price... Machete, Kukri, Bowie? What's your favorite to have around camp or leave on your vehicle.

I have way nicer and better looking knives but this, here under, acted for years as "do it all" camp knife. My only "knife" actually, but for a small pocket folder.

I keep a 16" Condor Swamp Master machete in the vehicle so it is there for car camping or any need that develops.

For planned chopping, I usually go with the Condor Pack Golok or Village Parang.

I have a few choppers, a Livesay RTAK, Kabar/Becker Bk-4 Machax, Blackjack Magnum Camp Knife, and the BK-5. (incidentally, the Blackjack is the predecessor to the BK-5, but in 1/4" thick 440c, it's a completely different knife, that just happens to share an almost identical profile) For camping, or just bumming in the woods, I like a 6-8" Bowie. The SOG S1 is tougher than a Kabar and looks a helluva lot better.

But for heavier chopping, it's a tomahawk that gets the nod. Anything more gets a chainsaw...

Becker BK5. Though I "gave" it to my dad, it's both of ours since I live with him and we share a lot of our tools. It's been sharpened by Jerry Fisk.

I also have a serrated Spyderco aqua salt for fishing related stuff.

Haven't had a chance to to use either though.
