Kershaw's Mini Cyclone Ti/ZDP. I've carried it almost every day since April 2007. Next up would be the SG2 Blur. Best slicer I've found.

I have to agree.

But, of the few you've listed, I do like the Sebenza.

[Well, and quite a few of the others. The Sebenza doesn't lead by much.]

I think the Sebenza isnt leading by a larger margine is for 3 reasons.

1. some like to vote for knives that they own and enjoy using

2. some take price into consideration when choosing

3. its harder to appreciate the sebenza without handling one :)

Of course there are people who just dont like it, all legitimate reasons.

I voted the Griptillian, it's not my favorite knife but I do EDC it the most out of all my other knives.

the favourite uut of those I have is my Kershaw ZT 0500 MUDD
out of the ones mentions I can't tell,do not own or have not used/seen/handled them , unfortunately..

The knife I seem to have in my hand or pocket most often is the BM Stryker either the 907 or 913. So for me, that's the best production folder(s).

Best for what?

Exactly! And, for who, under what conditions, in order to accomplish what?

This is like asking, "what is the best compass direction?" I am quite fond of 212 degrees, myself. Then again, last summer I did have a great experience with 37 degrees. Hmmmm?

Hi lava_lamp -

I only have direct experience with a couple of the listed knives, but I voted Buck 110 of the ones I have experience with.

It is nice to see that the griptilian and Spyderco Millie rank highly, as I have one of each on order.

The Reeves knives are interesting, but for the $$$ I will not be getting into one of those anytime soon - perhaps for a present from my wife some year.

best regards -

My personal favorite would be the humble Case Sodbuster Jr. in CV. Cheap, outstanding performance, and feels great in the hand. plus, if you lose it it won't break your heart.

Well, let's see. Yesterday the best folder was a Benchmade Barrage. Today the best folder is a Kershaw Scallon (that's it in my back pocket. See it?) This Summer when I go camping with my son's Boy Scout troop, the best folder might be my BM Rukus, unless I decide to take my newer Barrage out for the outing instead. I won't know until I get a copy of the camp activities and decide what I'll be doing most of the time with the scouts. Of course, my old style SAK Super Tinker will be my co-best folder on that trip, as I never camp without it.

Enough. I think I have made my point.

i voted griptilian. Are chris reeves and strider knives classified as production? I always thought they were customs or atleast semi-production

Is the sebie a production knife? am in my 60's and have never seen one in a store. To me, the best has to be first of all, readily available. I will take thew Buck 110.

! The "best folder" is the one that is in your pocket (or whatever) when you need to cut something.

I went with Sebenza figuring Best = Favorite. It would be interesting to have each person vote for their top 3, weigh the scores, then see which model wins on total points. I bet the results would be surprising.
