What is with A.G. Russel?

I wonder if Dave and Severed leave the customary 20% tip when dining at a restaurant , or is that outside of their standards ?

Well said Keith !

JTW I dine at places in Vegas you could only dream about. My tipping practices are quite irrelevant to this thread, but I typically do leave 20+% and if the chick is super hot I have been known to leave $200 or more with a phone #. Its an easy way to score some serious ass. :D Flirt flirt flirt through dinner and pay her well for her services. Oh it also helps to look good to.:D

NEO
"when you are a knifeknut you already know all the knives"

Wow, you are more knowledgeable than 99.9% of all knifeknuts, you should write a book. Bernard Levine sees a knife every so often that he knows nothing about. Maybe he can call on you?

God Bless you A.G.!!

Jeez, 8 pages to say what could have been said in one line.

"High quality products, high quality service, from a high quality seller"

perhaps you should.

what other dealer sends out catalogs many times a year?

how many other dealers send our military personnel packages containing dvds, magazines, mp3 players?

how many other dealers provide substantial discounts for military and leo?

how many other websites offer as much info, not only about the knives themselves, but about steels, grinds, etc?

how many other dealers are regulars on the forums and spend their free time responding to silly threads questioning their integrity?

ag russel devotes much time to not only making thier customers happy, but making their customers stay.

akadave2,

First off, I couldn't agree more here.

Second, AG Russell is more than merely a knife dealer.. He is a Legend in his own time and will leave his legacy for us all long after he is gone. His vast knowledge is shared freely among the forums here and he is easily accessible as is proved right here on this ridiculous thread.

Third, no one is holding a gun to your head to buy from him. God gave us all free will and last time I checked this was still a free country.

.. I suspect Neo and severdthumbs will be gone sooner or later with there antics in here and elsewhere.

Last but not least, is this thread appropriate here in GB&U? I would think W&C would have been the proper venue for crap like this?

Just saying it makes no sense to justify marked up prices on the fact of good service. Good service should not cost you more.

So severed, who do you propose pay for the good service some businesses offer?
As there's always a cost associated with it. Usually as a result of the business employing more or more qualified employees, having a better website or more inventory.

You're a liar. Anyone who starts telling others how much money they throw around usually doesn't.

Yea, perhaps. You posted much more than that though.

I toned down my verbiage a bit in respect for AG Russell's request in his post #132, but you quoted my original post before I was completed.

Also, I must say you seem much more reserved and respectful this morning. Just a word to the wise, alcohol and the Internet do not mix well.

Got a question. Do you really think that talking like this makes anyone outside of a small circle of friends take you seriously? I know you think you big pimpin dawg, thas how we roll but, to be honest, it comes across like you're a liar and a clown. And who takes liars and clowns seriously?

No Of course not but it is funny. But I put my money where my mouth is. We are gonna have 3 booths at LAX for New Years Eve, space will be limited but there is room for a few more. If anyone is interested in kickin it thumbz style let me know. So there come see for yourself, thats the best I can do.

OK severed, I'm confused.
Over in the customs forum you have been crying about the horrid economy, how much worst things are going to get, your divorce and not being able to buy knives anymore.

However here you act as though you're a rapper that just made his first billion.
What gives?

Some of the ideas being put forth regarding AG Russell are not acurate. I think that AG russell sells very high quality products for a fair price. I have purchased custom knives from him, and mens products also, from his mens catalogue. The service is top notch. The products are first rate. One of the lessons I learned at an early age, from my mom, was that "you get what you pay for". So many post in this forum are about scam artists, and other unscrupulous "dealers". All these troubles, when you delve into the posts seems to be the fact that people are trying to get something cheap. When it looks to good it is not real. When I buy anything from AG Russell, I know that if I am not satisfied with the product, I can get my money back or have something else from the catalogue. It is up to me. I decide what is good and what is not. That is the AG Russell policy. This is the strongest warranty I have ever seen. I think anybody posting and advocating that AG Russell is to expensive, and questioning his business practices should truely understand how AG Russell operates, before writing critical posts. I bought a Bob Dozier Professinal Guide Knife, and my buddy saw it and ordered one too. I bought a Tinus Beaukas Gentlemans Side Knife, and I have bought stingray skin wallets from the Mens Catalogue. Every purchase has been a good experience for me. I will always do business with AG Russell. I hope others will disregard this post and do business with a true gentleman, and a great company.

Good for you. That's not my bag , fine dining ain't for me , but great for you that you can afford the finer things , and thanks for contributing to the Vegas economy , believe me , right now this place could sure use it.

I am not a flashy person , preferring more so to stick to the basics , well until it comes to my knives & firearms.... speaking of which , its Sunday , that means range time. You ever find yourself in Vegas , 2nd Sunday of each month , do feel free to drop by Desert Sportsman Gun & Rifle Club for our monthly subgun match , I will be the guy in the black hat running the timer all day.

LAX on New Years ? Bud , I don't even venture out to the strip on New years.... way too crazy for me.

antidepressants work! lol

Kevin, this is all true, my divorce has put a squash on buying knives for a little while. and the economy scares the hell out of me. I worked as a nuclear medicine technologist, I recently finished schooling and just very recently started working as a physician assistant to a nuclear medicine physician. So I got a pay raise. Which in turn had led to an ungodly amount of child support being paid out monthly. now i dont mind paying cs at all but my god $1500 a month for one child seems like a lot to me, thank God there is a cap on it. But alas it is what it is. I guess I could still buy knives but I am chosing to put that fundage towards partying and women at the current. I have decided to stop worrying so much and just let lose and have fun. Sorry to seem contradictory.
