No, it came that way...actually part of the super weird release mechanism. You pull down on that tail section to fire the knife

These two have been getting some carry time lately...

I have ..IMHO a pretty nice edc rotation that includes..CRK,Strider,EKI,and the knives Ive choose for the last few years has been Spydercos,mainly 1 of 2 Shamans but for a tad lighter edc is the PM2.
The tanto is a reassuring carry. As is the manix 2,which is my always available truck knife..and it's partner is the EKI multi tool and a leatherman wave.
I really do need to thin out the hurd!!
