What kind of folder do you carry?

Last few days has been the Pro-Tech Rockeye Operator. The more I carry it, the more I love it.
Excellent ergonomics, feels great in my hand. This was very well thought out design. At first I thought that the blade to handle ratio was a bit off but upon use it seems that Mr. George doesn’t just build knives- he uses them. The extra length of handle doesn’t just make for a solid grip, it is set up so that when you deploy the blade it doesn’t sweep the meat of your palm when it opens- nice.

I've wondered about the rockeye's grip. I had a mordax that I got rid of because the handle was uncomfortable during prolonged hard use.

I like the Mordax a lot and carry it often, so I may not be the one to give a fair assessment of the differences.
I find the Rockeye feels thicker but not large, longer with still being about the same size. Very subjective, maybe vague, but it’s hard to describe.
I think that the Rockeye would be much more comfortable during prolonged use or when a lot more pressure would need to be exerted on the handle.
For what they sell the regular uncoated models for I’d say grab one and give it a try. It’s a cool knife.

Today I switched it up to this beauty. Appropriately dressy enough to go to the Cemetery to water flowers for the wonderful people that lead to my being here. Watered for some strangers along the path too. It’s going to be hot here for a while and some of the plots had flowers that were not going to make it without some attention.
Maybe someday someone will return the favor, although it’s far more likely that someone will pee on my grave.
Two views to try and catch better lighting.

Well, I thought I would give Hinderer a try once again. I've probably owned 6 or 7 different models over the years but was never happy enough to keep one.
I just got what appears to be a keeper.

You dog! You scored that one right from underneath me 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve kicked myself so many times for letting go of my skinny slicer years ago. 😔

This CRK L31 arrived this week. I’ve had maybe 6 CRK’s over the years and sold every one of them. I really wanted to like everything about them - except the poor heat treat on the S35VN steel and the factory sharpness that was never better than “meh” always bugged me on an otherwise premium knife. I liquidated my knife collection to pursue motorcycling, but that didn't work out so well.

Back then I was so eager for an Insingo blade in MagnaCut at the higher hardness. After coming back around here I learned the insingo in Magnacut was out. This was a father's day present and I’m very much enamored with it right away (it’s everything I remember) and it is really sharp! It's breaking in nicely already and I’m looking forward to using this.

I just picked up this PM2 in K390 from a member here on the forums. I’ve been dying to try this steel out and was looking at a Stretch 2 in K390 for a long time but I’m extremely happy I stumbled upon a PM2 which is a pattern I’m very familiar with.

K390 seems to be well received as a great steel for folders. Any thoughts, feedback, or experience with it whether it be using, carrying, or sharpening it, etc?

I lightly stropped it with some Gunny Juice and flipped the clip around. Just gotta run it now!

K390 is awesome. I wish I never got rid of my Police 4. It took a wicked edge and held it for quite a very long time. I loved the blue and purple patina it takes when you cut up meat!

IMO, you can lay back the angle a little when you resharpen (depending on your use case, I suppose). K390 is awesome. I really enjoy it. I know for some corrosion can be a concern, but it isn't really a problem for me. I even have a kitchen knife in k390.

The edge k390 will hold is pretty impressive. It stays sharp for a long time, so I haven't had to sharpen yet.
