I agree, my friend. Frank did a lot more Conan and some cool John Carter of Mars illustrations, also. I found that Boris at a massive local used book store today for $15 .nice book but frazetta was betta![]()

Checked it out…great stuff !Love 'em both, but when it comes to John Carter...Michael Whelan
A job well done !I did a dye job on the box elder burl inlays on my mnandi recently and I love how it turned outView attachment 2624844
Thank you! I used Fiebing's leather dye in Mahogany, with a single pass using a cotton swab, then I used a second clean swab to "buff" any spots where the dye was uneven.A job well done !Your Mnandi scales look very unique, almost like a Box Elder and Bog Oak hybrid. May I ask which dye was used and how ?
So cool. Appreciate you sharing and great comparison pic with the Skinner. I had been wondering how the Mnandi sizes up….and now I know. Thank you !Thank you! It seems fairly colorfast after a couple days but I'm still getting a little transfer when drying with a paper towel (used it to cut up lunch)
I'm no expert in dyeing anything so I'd take my methods with a grain of salt, but I'm enjoying the finished product.
Here's how it started out (feat. Skinner)

Picked up this M4 tanto PM2. It’s been used a bit and isn’t in the greatest shape but I’ve owned a ton of PM2s and have never done much customization or messed with them outside of throwing a Lynch clip on so I think this is going to be a project knife for me and I can’t wait to go down the rabbit hole of stuff you can throw on these. I’m thinking some Ti hardware, milled scales, and a Lynch clip to start out…
It looks like it was hit with scotchbrite or something at some point and has some light scratches all throughout the blade. Do you guys have recommendations on what I could use to clean it up a bit and get them out without doing a full blown polish on the blade?

They are stabilized and actually even since this last post they've lightened some more. Seems like they'll hold onto some dye but the more I use the knife the more the color is fadingAre they not stabilized? Looks great either way, I've dyed lots of wood with leather dye but it never really took to stabilized scales. However, a bit of low heat from the stove (making sure not to scorch) will definitely darken up the grain.
What about the color of your palms? They are stabilized and actually even since this last post they've lightened some more. Seems like they'll hold onto some dye but the more I use the knife the more the color is fading
I think my patients all thought I was nasty this week with all the brown under my nails from the initial dye jobWhat about the color of your palms?![]()
