What kind of folder do you carry?

IMG_9003.jpeg

Switching it up from my usual rotation of CRKs and LGs to carry something different this week.

Love the Emerson handles and this one has an excellent balance between flipper and thumb disk opening plus waves well. Good blade shape although the steel is nothing special.

The Demko was my one and only folder carry for quite a while and it’s perfectly broken in, high fidget factor, feels rock solid locked up and a good and useful blade shape.

Newer ZT with some upgrades that have been trickling in. Just got the scales in and installed last night

Zero Tolerence 0640
-Suingab Copper snakeskin CF scales
-Gray Percision Ti monster thumb disc
-Deep carry Lynch stubby clip

I love the 0640, not least because it reminds me of the original Emerson Specwar A, one of the first quality knives I owned.
BUT, it also really frustrates me because I think it would have been perfect if they'd just added a wave.
Yes it is a fine knife, and smoothness is on par with my LG MK3 w/Phospher bronze washers.

I would think someone could mill a thumbstud with an integral wave that you could just screw in and replace the existing thumbstud with. I haven’t owned an Emerson so I don’t know what I’m missing.

Great designs and ergonomics. Not so great materials, F&F, and value for money.
Yup.

I have a couple of Emersons. I should probably list them up.

I prefer the Zero Tolerance I have, with the Emerson Wave.

The Wave is a brilliantly simple design feature (especially on the Fox karambits, where it literally is the fastest deploying non-fixed blade, as it deploys on a forward draw while being brought into play, unlike a regular folder with the Wave, that needs to be drawn backwards to deploy first, before being brought into play), but the actual Emerson knives are rather lacking, for the price.
