What kind of folder do you carry?

this knife is my all time favourite folder and I carry it every day I'm not toting my EDC

Cool knife. Straight backed handles work really well. Your CPK designs are a mix of straightish to having humps and curves I’ve noticed, depending on size. Lots of details in the whole of a winner many people may never pay attention to other than a “yes!” or “nah” when they hold a knife.

What are you thinking about Maxamet? It's one of the few steels Spyderco offers in a Para 3 that I haven't tried.
Honestly, I have had exactly no issues with it, in terms of sharpening, edge holding, chipping, or use. Some folks have had significant issues while others have abused the hell out of their edges with little to no damage. You can read all about those things on the Spyderco subforum.

I have only kept three Paramilitary 2s over the years: Cruwear, Rex 45, and Maxamet, so you know it's a favorite. I sharpen at 15 degrees per side and am quite happy with how it performs and how long it performs. For me, it easier to sharpen than S110V. You could do much worse than a Para 3 in Maxamet. Read up on it and decide for yourself if getting one is worth the risk of bad results that some have experienced. I'd be very surprised if mine ever broke given how it has performed, but even if it does, I've gotten a lot of life and use out of it already. It definitely has been worth the money IMHO.

I’ve been EDCing a custom Laconico EZC since I got it. It’s a perfect pocket knife for me. But it’s bumped any uses for the large blade on my favored SAK Compact multi-tool.

I just made an inquiry with Robert J Lessard to mod a new SAK Compact to avoid any redundancies. Custom tool selection, Titanium scales and spacers, Torx nuts, and a copper inlaid cross.

This place is expensive to hang out in.

This place is expensive to hang out in.

Yeah, it is.

I've got so many knives laying around that I'm starting to want to sell the least liked of my pile and consolidate that $ into a big $ knife.

One only needs so many 6" field knives (pattern/style, not cpk model), for example. Once ive got one in my truck, war belt, bag and shop, the rest are just not doing anything besides tieing up my $. I'd rather get something I don't already have because I refuse to spend bank account $ on it.
