Honestly, I have had exactly no issues with it, in terms of sharpening, edge holding, chipping, or use. Some folks have had significant issues while others have abused the hell out of their edges with little to no damage. You can read all about those things on the Spyderco subforum.What are you thinking about Maxamet? It's one of the few steels Spyderco offers in a Para 3 that I haven't tried.
