what knife brands will you not..........

Ugh,,well I do know of a few countrys that I wouldnt buy knives from namely: china, pakistan,Taiwan, mexico, korea and a whole slew of others.

Frost, United, and anything that would ever show up on Home Shopping Network. geegee

All "fantasy" knives and anything made in Pakistan.

One of the best memories I have as a kid was I was handling a Gil Hibben knife that my cousin bought. She was into the whole goth thing, but didn't do the black makeup stuff, just the black clothes and all. Anyway, when she handed it to me, she said to be careful because that knife was "expensive".:D

While CRK designs are great, I don't think I'd buy them either. For more than $300 I'd just go with a custom or semi-custom knife.

And the Anti Sebenza mob isn't?

I won't buy a DDR/Wilson folder because there is no way that knife is worth what they're charging with a 440c blade and I don't like how all of the knife dealers on the web, save one, are marketing it as a custom when it's clearly not.

Also won't own any more Spyderco's.

When I first saw the title I thought, "What a good sh!t stirring topic!"

LMAO, you got that right!

:D

At least they can be opened with either hand, unlike your current Sebenza.:p

No Busse or Strider for me.

I prefer efficient cutting knives rather than "bomb proof" prying or chopping knives. If I wish to pry something my local hardware store has a large selection of quality crowbars that will work better than any knife, for less than 10 dollars. If I wish to chop concrete then something is very very wrong.

Some of the smaller Busses or SRKW models might be an exception to this, but most of those are still very thick.

Striders are the opposite of what I like in terms of both design and style.

No Emerson for me, either.

If I am looking for a "hard use" folder I need more reason to buy one than hype. I have been asking for the better part of a year now and still have not heard one reason that Emersons are better suited to "hard use" than brands such as Benchmade or Spyderco.

Plus I hate chisel grinds.

I hate to say never...

Almost any SUPER, CHEAP, or WONDERFUL knife off Ebay... got several when I started out collecting 'real' knives, and all but one are GONE!

Spyderco.... I had an Endura for a short while, that I won in a contest, but then I contested it off. Just too odd shaped and heavy. Ain't really anything Spyderco makes that floats my boat.

Edited to add: Oh yeah I HATE opening holes!!! I'll take a stud or disk ANY time!

TRULY NEVER... serrated blades. Hate 'em. If a knife was PERFECT in every other way, I still wouldn't have it serrated.

I'll probably never own a Sebenza or any custom knife, as I just can't see spending that kind of scratch on something I could scuff up, scratch up, break or lose!

Nothing from Frost, United, Schrade, Meyerco, S&W (Taylor Cutlery) or any company that makes a living by ripping off designs of reputable designers/companies.

Shrade!

I had a folder with a broken blade. They refused to warranty it and wanted to charge more than what I could have purchased a new knife for to fix it. Then Shrade sends me a letter stating that if I wanted my broken knife back I would have to send them rediculous amount (approx half the value of the knife) for shipping. That was many years ago and I have not purchased a Shrade product since. My tastes and budget have advanced over the years, but not my dislike of their business practices and attitude towards customer service. There are too many knive companies out there who truly do appreciate their customers to have to deal with the likes of Shrade.

I won't buy any recurve blades. One reason is that recurve is too much trouble to sharpen. Yes, I can sharpen a recurve with my Spyderco rods, etc., but I don't want to. I like blades that can be sharpened with a flat sharpening stone, be it oil, water, or diamond. So, no recurve for me, even though there are some recurve knives out there that I find appealing, such as the Camillus EDC, or the Benchmade 710, or the SOG Recondo drop-point, etc.
Also, the main benefit of recurve, that being the increased cutting power at the front of the recurve, is offset by a reciprocal decrease in cutting power at the rear part of the recurve, that is the part of the recurve closer to the handle.
I have one recurve knife, an older Blackjack-made Becker Campanion, which has a small bit of recurve in it, apparently unintended. The blade is fine with the slight recurve, but I would prefer no recurve in it, just the same.

It would have to be a Schrade fixed blade. Foolishly during one of my Western Elk hunts this was the only knife on my side at the time. The Elk was down and waiting to be cleaned and quartered. I could only cut for a minute or two before the knife needed touching-up. The steel was much too soft to hold an edge, especially through hide and hair. This knife cost me about two extra hours in the dark dressing out my Elk. I was not a happy camper. Lesson learned. I had two new custom blades with me on my next hunt.:)

United,Fury, fantasy knives, and anything that is made in pakistan

It might be easier for everyone to list the companines they will buy from. There seems to be to many that people will avoid.
