What knife can you not bring yourself to like?

if it's about fashion,
well, some things
are just hard to fathom

but what do i know about fashion statements?

I actually love that. But i just cant pay over a hundred bucks for the kabar when snody was selling the ones he made for a benji as well.

Any SOG made after 1990
Any Cold Steel made after 2000
And the Kershaw Cryo - and Lord know I've tried

I love Spyderco's, I have 5 of them. But nothing appeals to me about Rubicon. The Schempp Tuff neither. Any of Cold Steel knives. Even now with CTS-HXP steel and a decent price, I can't bring myself to buy one. Any of ZT 300 series. I've owned a 350 and sold it.

I can not get into a ZT folder. I really like their fixed blade but just will not put my money on any of the folders.
Too bad because they look great.
Frank.

Can't seem to embrace Strider - the knives or the company.

As a Rolex fan, I can tell you that to have a precision machine that beats 28,800 per hour for years and years - accurately, in a very well finished off case that can withstand 200 or 300 or more (model dependent) meters of water submersion is a rewarding way to tell time - especially if it is on one's wrist via a precision machined bracelet. Granted a G-Shock or similar performs the same functions (and more) better and for far less money - it's just not as rewarding.

That said, I do like the Sebenza and have for a long time owned one or another; and this from an Emerson fan!

I too can do without the Mall Ninja knives. Not only do they do nothing for me, but to Sheeple they do not portray us legitimate Knife Knuts favorable, IMHO.

Strider in general

Busse and the other two, aesthetically. I dont like the look they always go for (nor the price on the Busses) .

Fallkniven, can't justify the price or the blandness of the designs.

Becker knives (the ka-bar line) , hideous and wide.

Moras, I just feel like I'm wasting a perfectly acceptable opportunity to use another knife.

Bark River. Their model variety, different but similar, and the million handle choices give me a headache. I also dont like many of their designs.

(Edited)

Forgot to add SOG, probably because I never think about them, that's how much I like them. By far the company I like the least.

I understand the quality and i've used and owned some of them. I dont like them.

Most any crkt. Except for the ripple. Great knife, the ripple.

I don't know what it is about CRKT, but they always manage to strike some kinda balance that makes me completely lose interest in anything they produce. It's either too expensive, too poorly made, uses the wrong materials, or has or is missing features that are dealbreakers. I loved the Mah Eraser, but the price and steel were pretty unremarkable. I loved the Swindle, except for the most distinguishing feature - the pocket clip. If it wasn't annoying enough to have it turn sideways in your pocket, I then also had it completely turn around over the course of a day and it sliced my pinkie finger something fierce when I reached into the pocket.

They'll "get it right" some day, but they're pretty consistently doing it just wrong enough to keep me away.

Spyderco...just can't get past the big whole in the blade and the bulge that results.

Spyderco Zulu. What a novelty blade. Unique looks, smooth operation, S30V blade. All for what? The tip can't pierce, and the only practical cutting area is the hump belly.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Really liked the cool looks of Jens Anso knives so when Spyderco came out with the Zulu I had to have one - nice knife but a lousy slicer that I haven't carried more than 2 or 3 times.

Spyderco seems to make a lot of knives with odd, nonsensical blade shapes that don't really seem to do anything other than look unique.

I saw this on KC the other day. My first thought was "someone couldn't even pay me to carry that monstrosity!":D

And what the hell is up with these depressed clips lately? I first saw it on a Shirogorov, and I tried it on a CannaBis. It makes it nearly impossible to clip the knife to anything, and the seam on a pair of jeans doesn't allow the clip to seat properly in your pocket. Perhaps I'm missing something here:confused: I guess this is the answer to people that whine about pocket clips causing "hot spots"

Spyderco does come out with an occasional "off the wall" design but they also have many extremely functional knives that I absolutely love - Over the years, (after getting burned a couple of times) I've learned to avoid the more quirky designs from them.

I agree!! Why put a clip on their if they are going to make it unusable. I'd love to carry my Shiro and GTC but the clips aren't functional at all. Great knives...useless clips.
