What knife can you not bring yourself to like?

Sebenza, Umnumzaan, etc. Are they worth north of $400? Let me break it down; 2 slabs of Ti, 2 washers, an avg/regular blade steel, few screws, and a standoff. I really don't see the intrinsic quality. Bought both, then realized what an idiot I was for doing it. Beat them up and sold them off. Bought a sage 2 and never looked into getting any other Reeve knife.

Sort of like when you realize the Rolex's and Breitlings dont keep time that well so you end up happy with a Seiko or Ironman?

Any fixed blade from spyderco - the affordable one most likely are "virtual full tang" and the ture full tang one are just way too expensive for what they are.

if it's about fashion,
well, some things
are just hard to fathom

but what do i know about fashion statements?

All of the Sage, Dragonfly, Chapparal, and Native style Spydercos. All the ones with that handle shape and choils, I cannot get ahold of them. It really sucks, because ~3" folders are my favorite and the Sage series looks amazing on paper.

SAKs and over-built "tactical" folders... I just don't get them at all. Give me a good multi-tool and a 3-5" fixed blade any day.

Great blade design, handy size, excellent steel, built in the US by a reputable company... hideous handle scales. The best thing about them is, they're removable... :p

Top of the don't like list for me is serrations - especially blades that are only offered with serrations. I mean why? Fifteen or twenty years ago they were deriguer but since then a lot of people have figured out they don't like or need 'em. Don't companies realize they are losing sales when they offer serrations only blades? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't grinding the serrations virtually the last step? What would be so hard about pulling some out before that step and selling them to the folks who like plain blades? Followed closely by chisel grinds - especially since they are almost exclusively done for southpaws.

CRK and Striders.... way too expensive fpr what your getting. Cold steel......do i really need to elaborate? Sure you get a modified backlock that can hold 600 lbs of force, but aus 8 needed to be sharpened every other day if used heavily and the only time i ever saw one in the wild was in the pocket of a mall ninja or someone like them. No thanks. Yes the steel has been upgraded, but that's only the start as they plan to roll out higher priced models and compete with ZT, Spyderco, etc.

My comfort zone is the $192-$240 zero tolerance knives. Very well put together and great pricing for what you get.

Ironically, I'm pretty much in love with the Solo V4 Wharnie design. I'd kill just to hold one...

You know that phrase "first thought, best thought."?

My first thought was "that looks like a knife for people who beat up fat kids."

I'm not sure what that means exactly, but it feels right.

Interestingly, I used to be a fat kid... You may be on to something.

Microtech.

Also, I like the Becker designs but hate the handles. I had a BK9, brute and a few others, sold them all off.

I have 3 Rolexes and 6 seikos and my Rolexes keep better time. I don't have Breitlings.

Zt 0350. Can't stand it. Feels like a brick with a recurve blade. I do like the 0300 though so maybe theres a chance.
