What knife company is the most ruinous to your wallet?

Lately Cold Steel but I'm looking at CRK for the first time.

I have a ton of knives of all different kinds and its the traditionals that kick my wallets ass day in and day out. GEC, Northwoods, Case, Canal Street, AG Russell, you name it. Seems crazy right? Well, I buy a Chris Reeve or a Custom and i'm dropping $400+ at a time. I see it, its on my statement, it scolds me, I try to do better and move on.

Now the traditionals are only $20-$100. I can ignore that on my statement... but boy can it add up when youre purchasing a new one that catches your eye multiple times a week.

Yeah I've also been buying up some old Cold Steel knives in AUS8. I actually really liked what they did with it. Of course I can't complain about the upgrade. But seriously, like $30 for a Voyager? Cmmon.

Emerson. And i cant justify why.

Highest on my want list, even tho others are better in materials, value, design, or actual usefulness.

But i lust for them so.

Zero tolerance and it's not even close. They are killing my checkbook but the knives are so good

Busse is the worst offender here, followed by Spyderco and then Cold Steel.

Spyderco mostly - different variations, sprints, colors and models. However CRK and Hinderers are starting to cut in on the action. I have developed a higher tolerance to my wallet I guess :)

Probably Cold Steel. I've got folders, fixed blades, machetes, a tomahawk, even one of their swords. I suspect they're near the top of the list if they're not the top spot.

Condor/Imacasa rank pretty highly too. They're not real expensive on a per blade basis, but I have a LOT of their blades, like, I could probably issue a Condor or Imacasa blade to the entire military personnel of some third world countries. Traditional Filipino Weapons gets an honorable mention too. I only have 6 of their blades plus 2 staves and an sawtooth ironwood club, but each of the blades was $230-250 plus shipping, the club was around $175, and the staves were around $30 each, so even with so few it's a pretty high total.

I don't own any CRKs, no Emersons, no Busse, no midtechs, only 1 ZT, only around a dozen Spydercos, a lot of Kershaw but many of them are their China line or cheap US made ones like the Leeks...

Lile.

Pretty rough crappy finish on their fully sandblasted Hollow Handles (the two tones finishes are probably better)... It is now costing me a small fortune having them painted to achieve a semi-decent standard... One is going back for the second time it gives so much trouble... Basically they are so bad (a Mission and a Sly II) that they cannot even be polished, because polishing would reveal deep major basic grinding flaws instead of hiding them... The flaws are so deep grinding them out would bring the knife completely out of true(!!): Paint is the only solution, but the heat of Cerakoating brings out oil seepage out of the resin handle sealant, this through the unsoldered guard(!!!)... I figured out a solution: Applying thin superglue into the guard joint should keep oil seepage in check, and allow the damn flaws to finally be painted over...

This is one brand were the sheaths are actually a lot nicer made than the knives... Grrr...

Currently it is Adventure Sworn.

Most recent attack on my wallet.
