What knife DEFINES best who you are?

Gettin' all philosophical on us? Well, that's a tough one. There are a ton of knives that I like and a few that I really love. Finding the knife that defines me is really a matter of finding the perfect knife for me. I have to admit. I'm still looking for it. At least it's a fun journey.

Something along the Kephart pattern influence. Not the best looking but pretty decent at getting work done. Function over fashion for sure.

I would hate to be defined by a knife but if there was one which fit my (current) philosophy of life the best it would probably be this one though I no longer own it. A totally modern take, both materials and ergonomics - of an utterly classic, trusty and proven timeworn concept.

While I love being in and on the water more than anything and am a spearfisherman, those knives are just utilitarian, specialized tools.

I (sadly?) spend most of my time on dry land.

As such, while I may have several specialist blades on me at any given time, my trusty BK-14 will always be at my side.

It will do almost anything I ask of it. It's overly built for daily duty (like myself) but can rise to virtually any occasion.

If its good quality, made to last, somewhat pricey (not claiming justified), production (wont disrespect someone's handmade work), somewhat modified, practical tactical (ok somewhat impractical) and most importantly beat to sh**t its probably mine.

That Busse is a fine knife...a workaholic...

I have always been a proponent of Spyderco...so I guess I would best be known as the Slysz Bowie or the Gayle Bradley 2. Of course, I'd have to throw in the CRK model 21, a small BUSSE and a Survive fixed. I do enjoy good craftsmanship and good blade-steel in any knife.

My easy answer to this question: I live on a river. Finally the Siren was released and I have what is now my ultimate go-to dependable every day carry knife! (Until something better comes along.) :D

It's always been the Buck 501 Squire for me. Perfect size and shape for every day, pocket or sheath. Locks open and I can open and close it with one hand. Great on bird and trout.

There are many steel and handle combinations available, including this from Buck's Custom Shop.

I'll play along. Tops Cut 4.0

Always there yet unnoticed til needed. Made in America. Aggressive and ready. Also wishes it had a little more "cutting" length.

#2 was almost exactly what I was thinking. LOL I have a muddy active duty that is really sharp, tough as nails, and mostly overlooked since I hardly ever use it.
