Since we are talking about edged weapons -I think this is a great argument for Axes, tomahawks, and hatchets -you get the best of both worlds. Blunt trauma and cutting efficiency -and you may have a hammer on one side and an edge on the other for more options. The only downside is that it will be slower to swing than a club. There should be a "thinker" smiley. Hmm...

Hmm, axes and tomahawks you say? I would have never thought about them as weapons. I wonder where I could keep them so they'd be handy?

LOL, if you don't realize I'm just kidding take a look at the photo I posted earlier in this thread. I love axes and tomahawks.

Glock 17 and an old but super sharp Cold Steel Safe Keeper II push dagger. I'm not a Cold Steel fan and own very, very few but I have always thought the Safe Keeper series was a great idea.

I sleep with my 6 inch ti-lite next to me but I also have a handgun and shotgun which are closer and I'd rather go for one of those before a knife.

That's why I keep a khukuri next to my bed.

Ever since I heard a teen was decapitated by a falling katana above the bed after an earthquake, I decided to keep anything potentially hazardous away from my head.

But I do have a TAKKnife Bodyguard on my left and a CS 24" Barong on my right. I feel the Barong offers great defense potential in a situation like that.
Alternatively, I just pick up a gun.

Decapitation you say? Don't believe everything you hear. Cut badly sure, head cut off completely...:jerkit:

I keep a the bayonet from from a Mauser tucked between the headboard and the mattress. Any number of other things could be within reach, though.

I sleep with my cqc7 karambit cliped to my boxers. never loose it /if the house is on fire i wolnt run out and leave my mistress!!! :)

I keep my beater Kershaw Blackout on my nightstand next to my Browning BPS Stalker.
...
Im not 21 yet, therefore I cannot purchase a handgun so meh

A reworked and re-edged CS Rifleman's 'Hawk at the foot of the bed, but there are knives and swords in every room of the house.

Lately my RAT Izula has been hangin' from the night table knob, next to the 9mm and the EK Combat Bowie.

+1 on that thought! I've looked all over for one but all they have now is a chessy version called a Sake Maker with a flat side and an edge side.

Is that a chisel grind (not sure?) I don't like them though and I'm trolling w/o success for the original Safe Keeper.

I heard there's a discontinued Cold Steel Defender too?

PS: Beretta 92FS w/15 147 grain HP's and 3 Cell Mag-light
