What knife do you regret selling?

I regret both of my sales, but was happy at the time to be able to turn them into cash.

A Randall 3 - 5" and a Rattle Hawk.

My Microtech ATCF Terzuola D/A machine ground with Ivory Micarta scales.

I had the Micarta and two hand ground / Carbon Fiber models. The Marfione hand grounds were the most stunning pieces of steel I’ve ever seen in person. They are long gone as well but that Micarta knife is the only knife I ever sold that I wish I still had.

I bought, sold, bought, sold, bought the waved Spyderco Endura, so I guess that one.

It was the reason I joined BF after searching for what good companies there were, and try as I have to replace it, it's still a knife I like to carry over a lot of others.

Brian Tighe Coon, Damasteel Blade, sculpted blue anodized handles. Such a nice knife, but was having my first kid and needed the money. I've sold dozens, but that's the only one that still stings.

Victorinox Astronaut on EBay for the flimsy excuse of making ends meet at University as a mature student.
Sold for about £45 as I remember. 22 yrs ago or so.

My 2 biggest regrets are my 1st Swamp Rat Camp Tramp...I bought another to replace it but still felt like I was a cheating spouse. Selling my Busse Sarsquatch 2008 special edition was d-u-m-b, DUMB! Doubt I'll ever have a chance of owning another. Such a cool knife.

I thought of more. Sp10 Bowie. Mark III dive knife.

I guess the ones I regret most is the benchmade 3310 and the case Appaloosa trapper, in smooth Purple.

The 3310 was given to me by a friend and I swapped so I could get a gun I thought was the stuff. The friend is passed now. And the new owner looked at me like I was dumb when I inquired of trying to reacquire the 3310.

And the Appaloosa I bought at the game shop/ swap store for only $20 when I was a kid. I kept it 5 years maybe and then swapped it on a gun trade. And it’s brethren, a case 4” jack with red bone handles. Same place of purchase and same price and same fate. I have scoured eBay for duplicates but ain’t been able to find them. The jack was a newer production one with taller handles than the older once’s. Both with cv blades best I recall.

Uh. Why did you have to bring it up?

Microtech Amphibian auto. I couldn't carry autos in Indiana at the time and I didn't see that changing. LOL. Luckily, that is no longer the case and most of my daily carry are autos. No Amphibian though...

Here are just a handful I regret selling.

Top row: Emerson Mini A-100 with thunderstorm kevlar scales, gold-plated hardware and a v-grind by REK. Spyderco Zulu with natural canvas micarta scales by Steve Ketchen. Hinderer XM-18 wharncliffe 3" with snakeskin juma scale by Ketchen, copper-anodized hardware and a mirror edge by REK. Spyderco Pingo with white paper micarta scales by Ketchen (this is the only one pictured that I still have).

Bottom row: Spyderco Junior with natural linen micarta scales by Ketchen, and acid/stone wash and a mirror edge by Atom Edge Sharpening. Spyderco Southards in black c-tek and maple burl, both by Ketchen. Spyderco Nilakka in figured maple by Ketchen.

I had 3 benchmade autos from the 90’s confiscated because of my brother, then in 2010 he stole 90 percent of my collection. I lost interest for about 10 years but I’m starting to regain my love for them. I bought a zt0301 as a retirement present but a marine twisting my arm made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. I regretted it before during and after the trade. I sold a benchmade Griptilian in 154cm that I regret selling. I had 2, the other one being in s30v, which I kept. Then I realized, why can’t I have one in every steel?

I had a love hate relationship with an Olamic Classic. It was beautifully crafted but much too large for my preferences. I do get to see it from time to time here on the forum.
