What knife features do you HATE that others LOVE?

Thumb studs, inexpensive low alloy steel, and a thick durable edge (as opposed to a thin edge that will actually cut, but you have to treat it nicely).

Overweight, over-sized, overbuilt, overly thick folding pry-bars; in other words, most popular trendy "tactical" knives. Thin blades cut better than thick ones; thick blades sell better than thin ones. Go figure.

Cheap sprayed-on coatings instead of decent blade finishes, especially mall-ninja tiger-stripes.

Juvenile motifs (flames, skulls, dollar signs, etc.).

Flat, ugly slabs of textured black G-10; looks like a ping pong paddle or a rubber floor mat (as well as Zytel, Delrin and other cheap plastic handle materials.).

Overtly militarized, aggressive, faux-"hardcore," ugly-for-ugly's sake designs (most Emersons, Striders, ZTs, etc.).

Cheap galvanized trashcan finishes (stonewash, etc.).

Trendy, semi-functional blade grinds ("tanto," chisel grind, excessive recurves, etc.).

One of the keywords in the above list is cheap: Cheap finishes; cheap coatings; cheap handle materials, and the ridiculous "tactical" marketing trend that attempts to validate these cheesy shortcuts as desirable "features" that are somehow worthy of inclusion on "high end" production knives, and even some very expensive customs. Talk about laughing all the way to the bank.
I agree with every one of your points. Sadly, you've described a good 80% of mass market knives!

chisel grinds!!!!
combo edges
American tanto blade shapes
camo handles (digi camo is tolerable but "standard" woodland camo is just hideous)
tip down carry

The Mora #1, specifically the handle.

I don't think anyone HERE likes combo edges, but the world in general seems to have a deep love of them. They make a knife borderline useless in my experience.

I'm not a fan of smooth G-10, way too slippery for a knife handle IMHO unless it's heavily textured.

Chisel Grinds
Combi-edges
Metal handles
Ambi thumb studs
Mall ninja coatings and symbols
Fantasy designs

liner locks
anything with the words "tactical" "EXTREME" "special" or "stainless china" on it.
Give me full serrations or none at all.
overly aggressive serrations
any slipjoint larger then a SAK

The partial serrated edges. I don't mind a fully serrated blade for some things, though I prefer the smooth blade edge, but those pieces of trash that have the back third or half the blade as serrated on a 3-4 inch blade just makes half the knife unusable.

American Tanto points are as ugly as sin.

I must be one of the few who like assisted openings. Always found the Kershaw ones to be nice. Of course some brands try to rip themselves out of your hand when opening the knife.

Chisel grind on anything but a chisel
American tanto's
Ridiculous recurves
Combo edge knives/most types of serrations
Cheap blade coatings that chip and flake at the drop of a hat

I don't care for scales in any color other than black, unless it is wood. Spyderco has had a lot of nice knives I just didn't buy because they were not black. Not a fan of assisted opening either.

Linerless G10 or plastic handles. I just hate the blade-heavy feel.

Recurves. A pain to sharpen with nothing in return for the trouble (for me at least).

Lockbacks. I can operate them fine one handed, but it the motion just isnt fluid like other locking mechanisms.

Plastic handles. Doesn't matter what kind of fancy name they give it, it's still plastic.
