This knife changed how I look at knives. I now have it :D.

The DSSFTM was the one for me. Took almost a year but I found the right one. Still my one and only Busse.

What got my attention was a picture someone posted of a BATAC next to a Fallkniven F1, a Bravo1, and some other knife. I was looking for something with larger handles and the BATAC dwarfed the others. First Busse I bought was a NMSFNO which was so well made I kept buying.

I saw my friends Hell Razor, and I was intrigued by the corrugated bevels as well as the great look of the blade. He schooled me on the knives, and led me to the blade forum....i am indebted to him for his help. I got a RMD first, then I found a sweet HR. This pic started it for me...photo courtesy of fhm615

I saw the Argonne Assault while looking for military knives. It was perfection and made from a type steel I had never heard of before... INFI... Thats where it started for me.

The SHSHII and SHBM caught my eye at shows when they were first released (late '90s?) - lack of both money and knowledge of the knives delayed the purchases. My first Busse was a Basic 9 in late 2001, followed by a Satin Jack a few months later. I did eventually get a SHSHII and SHBM.

I was won over by the yard and then eventually found my way to Busse.
The Yardkeeper LE was the knife that led me to the kin sites, forums and finally the knives.

It was the CGFBM, though the NMFBM is currently my favorite Busse knife

My first was a Custom Shop Ratmandu with an unsharpened swedge that ran the full length of the spine.

It was quite an introduction to the world of Bussekin, and if I was made of money I would still have it.

I later traded it for a War Dog which I can't seem to get myself to part with, it really is a great bushcraft/combat knife.

My second purchase was a Military Overrun 511 which I later traded for a De-Regulator that also got traded.

It's been quite the journey since I came upon these knives......

It was all over for me the first time I held an ASH1.
The feeling of that palm swell with the thickness of the blade just blew me away.

My First ASH was a CG fatty black blade black and tan G10... it was love at first grab... then there was the desert sand .22 ASH that is probably the BEST of the three thicknesses.... but it does not have the "heft" of the .32... :D

This was the first, a tail-bobbed NO-E...still have it, hopefully always will!

FFBM, FBM, FBMLE these. I think the FFBM was the first I laid eyes on that I sat up and said "Wow, I need that".

Right after that was the AD. Just something about that design. I have had two bads (traded or sold). I just sold my second one because I needed to free up some funds. I miss it. (I had the BAD, CABS, and MUCK). Only have he CABS for small knife now.

Also, the AA stands out in my mind as another Busse that made me stop and stare.

The really funny thing is, when I first found them, the knife on their website was the SFNO, and I thought it as ugly. Now it is one of my favorite looking designs!

to be honest, there are a lot of makers that have more beautiful designs (in my opinion). What directed my attention to Busse was a discussion on a German knife forum, where Busse basically got called an overhyped and overpriced brand.
So I did a bit of research myself, saw all the videos including the destruction test of the Battle Mistress by Noss, was very impressed and started looking for a model that I liked.
To this day, the only Busse that I have and find useful in everyday life and design-wise is the Game Warden Hack. I don't care for the big knives, I (still) use a kukri for the heavy work (maybe if I can justify a Killa Zilla budget-wise, I'll get that someday).

This was my first Busse, a jungle green Basic 11....:)

Since we are on an ASH-1 kick right now, here's my second Busse which was the first that made my jaw drop when I received it!!!:foot:

Someone down under is really gonna enjoy this one......;):D
