Since we are on an ASH-1 kick right now, here's my second Busse which was the first that made my jaw drop when I received it!!!:foot:

Someone down under is really gonna enjoy this one......;):D
..... I consider it my duty to provide homes to any ASH in need...!!

Love at first sight.... FBM all the way :)! Any and all flavors :D
My second love is the NMSFNO. It's a more refine/versatile version of the fbm.

The BOSS Jack pulled me in, but the Basic 11 really showed me what a Busse can do.

What knife really caught your eye and made you a Busse fan?

the one that caught my eye is not the one that made me a Busse fan but it turned my attention towards busse knives in 1996. The original Steel Heart in tactical knife mag cover, caught my eye. Ended up getting one used and sold it as it seemed too small. The one that caught my eye was the original SHBM sitting at the Busse table in a knife show either in LA or vegas circa 98-99 ish. Saw Jerry there, when he was still young and good looking.:p I remember seeing how many people were hitting his table. I also met CS Lynn Thompson at that show and the TOP's boys as well. After that, Lynn tried to buy my battlemistress off me :D. After waiting 8 months to get it, I said hell no.

Right on Moses_3. I was just about to say.... Ken's photo of the Pumpkin ASH-1. Made my heart stop when I first saw it, and still does. Became my grail and is one that will go to the grave with me. Busse perfection! So, no wonder my favorite user is the Skinny. For a an all around camp knife, the ASH-1 design is my gold standard. Nothing better.

This knife changed how I look at knives. I now have it :D.

Oddly enough it was a SAR 3. I was searching for a HARD USE small fixed blade and while I love all my little skeleton knives, I don't necesarilly trust them for harder tasks.
I found a picture or a SAR 3, started doing a little research, and now 12 Bussekin later, I'm hooked!

The first knife that got me reading about Busse and searching the Internet was the FBM LE. It was up on the site at the time ... and was very expensive or so I thought back then ... I came SO close to ordering one though ... but it was'nt what I wanted ... I wanted a lighter Res C Basic 9 ... Cliff Stamp used a Basic 7 to great effect and I had had and used a Res C Blackjack Destroyer for years which I wanted to replace as I gave it away to a son of a friend ... got a DFLE initially but when I went to Knob Creek and got hooked up with a Basic 9 and it came in the post ... then I had what I knew I had always wanted ... I did have other Busse knives before this one ... but they were not what I was looking for ... if the Basic's were available when I first started looking at Busse ... a Basic 9 might well be my only Busse ... until they brought out the Zilla's ... and my NTTKZ is neck and neck with my Basic 9 as my "What knife made ya!" ... those two do it for me:thumbup:

Initially, probably the TankBuster...but I've since settled on the NMSFNO as my 'do it all' knife of choice, with the TB as solid second, and moving into first place where I need something a little more compact.

FFBM and the test-video everybody know....

I bought my first Busse in November 2011 it was a AD Custom Shop, used it and decided to get a big chopper........... everytime I see this video again again again...... then a friend of me offered me a FBM and I bought it ;)

today I have 18 Busse knives from Assault Shaker to MOAB I love them all ;) :D

regards
Denis

My Active Duty, which was reprofiled by Ban a number of years ago, was my first Busse but the ASH1 LE with tiger micarta grips was the one that really sealed the deal. Unfortunately, I had the ASH1 LE stored at a friend's place in his safe and it got stolen from there along with its beautiful custom sheath by Rainwalker and a Fat Warden with blue and black G10 grips (along with half of my friend's guns and his own knives). At least I've still got the AD and am looking forward to finally getting a chance to replace the missing ASH1 LE with a Team Gemini with competition finish and green/black G10 grips. To say I'm excited waiting for the email to come in from Busse would be a bit of an understatement.
