Hey all,

I like a knife on me at all times because it is best to have when not need when need it when you do not have it.

I'm looking for a knife to carry while jogging/running outdoors. Something light weight and that won't mine a bit of sweat, and that is easy to deploy.

I'll prolly carry it clipped to my iPod arm band.

Folder preferred, but open to all ideas.

I've tried carrying my Spyderco Delica 4 light weight model while running and it great, but I feel it lacks reach if I were to really need it.

I also tried my CRKT M21-4SF because it has the reach, but it feels a bit heavy.

Looking to keep it under $200.

Thanks in advance!

Spyderco Streetbeat on their g-clip. Actually any fixed blade on a g-clip would work. There are several around for under 200.

That spyderco street beat is nice and light at 3.2 oz, it just it would be difficult to conceal, and I don't want to spook the people on the street.

.....Cold Steel Espada XL?.....

Jokes

How bout a Benchmade 940?

Actually, the Pacific's not a bad choice.

Easy to conceal. Wear it on the g-clip inside waistband and tuck the knife/sheath under your shirt. You may not even see the g-clip like this.

maybe some of the salt series from Spyderco? Lightweight because they don't have liners and H1 steel for rust resistance. Don't know about lock strength of pacific salt or salt 1 though. It may not be as strong as a knife with liners.

I don't jog/run but I do bike ride 3-4 times a week and i prefer to carry my spyderco para2 clipped in my waistband.

WHen I run or mountain bike I take along a Spyderco Endura. Long and effective SD blade plus it is very light.

Just went running tonight with my serrated Tasman salt clipped high in my pocket, didn't even notice it for the whole run. Highly recommend a very light folder, the salt line is perfect for it:

no liners (saves weight)

h1 steel (won't rust even if you clip it to your waistband)

Very stout titanium pocket clips

you can get them in either black, or yellow handles. (mines off my pfd, so its yellow, but black could be good for an arm band)

Lock back (closed retention is great, this is paramount for running) I can wrist flick open almost every other knife including axis locks and caged ball bearing locks, but back locks are solid because of the constant spring pressure.

Oh and having abused the heck out of linerless lockback spydies for a while now, including this tasman, no worries of them failing anytime soon. Very very sturdy knives.

carry some of cold steel budget line small fixed blades....but also learn how to use it.I use some of those cheap blades in kitchen.Thats all you would need......roach belly canadian or smtg similar.....

Hello,

Check out the Benchmade 530 pardue. 1.9oz, 3.25" blade, around $90 and 154cm. I think it would make a great edc blade too. Spyderco Endura ffg is what i take when I go running.
