#notnathan: Early Americans were stupid...that is all.How about a combat Bowie?
It would be amazing to create a true all-rounder that embodies the American frontier spirit—something capable of close-quarters combat and even bushcraft.
Of course, I personally prefer full-sized katanas or rapiers—even just the blades would be fantastic if you ever make them!![]()
Remember when Lorien came up with this beast? I always hoped CPK put it into production. It appears I've been hoodwinked. Well played, sir.
Axe aside, there is another blade I wouldn't mind seeing cpk visit that I'll mention again (I think I've requested it in this thread). A lighter, longer and quicker light chopper. Beefier machete kinda thing?
MC, LC, other thingy.

While my plan has been on paper for some time now, last night I got it so dialed in, that I'm excited about taking the next step and getting started. I have a bar of steel ready.
I built a knife around a handle concept that's been in my mind for awhile now, so I have something of a proof of concept for this knife that I can test.
The handle sculpting is a departure from just about anything that you'd be familiar with, ie; it's fairly unique.
Preliminary specs;
Handle... 6"
Blade... 15-16"
Stock thiccness... .156"
Blade width... 2.25-2.5"
Material...CPM3V and Terotuf

No I'm serious. We used to do 400 - 600 and send half of those to a pre-order. But the field knives, we've done over 800. Probably closer to 900. And we're going to go back and do more even though the sales are slowing down. I want to have shelf stock. I want people to be able to go on the site and buy what they want without any drama. I'm going to go back into production on that pattern so we can have some available for people without having to jump through hoops. I never wanted people to have to jump through hoops.
And we're making a lot of these EDC also.
Right now we are scrambling because
... Still need to do the skinner, dagger, folder, brush cutlass and kukri. Maybe an axe...
That thing is beautiful.Remember when Lorien came up with this beast? I always hoped CPK put it into production.

High traction scale option. Like some heavy checkering or some exaggerated golf ball dimples.. Im about to start dremeling. against my better judgement. My little edc gets slippery, and jumpy sometimes
Edit to clarify- we need extreme grip micarta scales. Terotuff exists. But is not as "nice" as the VIPs and ECAMs
Thanks! there is no going back now. Im planning on doing a few more rows of divots after my hands unclench.I definitely can respect someone who knows what they Want, and is willing to take action.....Good Job!....I bet a lot of people are shitting themselves....lol
*if you soak it/wipe it down with some Watco Danish oil finish, it will darken your newly made holes some, and blend the colors somewhat....

Fun!
It can get slippery. I might have to go for a TT set for my edc.
That’s so close to a DEK it might as well be one. Preorders had the option for a sharp swedge.I normally ask CPK for a 3.5 inch bushcraft knife with scandi zero grind and optimized heat treat for a zero grind, and the classic OSS lapel knife, and a boar spear……. But today, I am suggesting a “vest knife”.
I have a young friend that has been a cop for about a year or two, and I have been trying to show him the wisdom of carrying a fixed blade behind his vest but when he asks for suggestions I don’t have any (and there is zero chance he is going to get my UF!).
The vest knife is a slightly small and shorter version of the ultimate fighter knife….. probably about 4 inch blade (single and double edged versions) with a thinner tang and thinner handle profile (maybe 1/3 thinner) and a slightly larger guard….. the purpose of this knife is mainly for police officers to be worn behind a vest as a “get off me” last ditch option. It would also be a good option for civilian personal defense worn on the belt.
And, in the single edge Signature Series version it would probably work as a bush craft knife (aka the CPKBCK).
