What knives are you thinking of buying next?

In the past few weeks I've picked up the following knives:

  • Cold Steel Trail Hawk
  • Ontario 12" machete
  • Victorinox Farmer (in red)

I have on order two more:
  • Mora Swedish Army Knife
  • Valiant Large Survival Golok

This place is hazardous to my wallet.

I just ordered the Rat-7 D2 with rams horn scales with a matching Rat-3 including matching serial numbers. 2nd last one they had. I'd like to set up a piggy-back sheath for them.
Also got a Rat-7 in 1095 on order.
I gotta agree with Dave, this place has had negative affect on my bank balance. Gotta love it!

Lotsa good stuff to choose from, and lotsa good collections building here. I'd like to see a lot more people checking out the custom section here at BF though. We have some guys there that can make knives that blow me away. Koster, Drew, Gossman, Barker, Harner, NWA, and Ironwolf are awesome makers. Raymond Richard makes knives that will certainly evolve into light sabers someday. I just know it.

I appreciate that some of you are interested in mine too. Its humbling, and I'm around when you're ready.

I saw a couple of you wanting a Bravo-1. Great knife. Indestructable feeling in the hand, you know. (I'm a big fan of BRKT.)

I don't own a Busse, but I've handled one, and see the draw. Not my style, but thats completely irrelevant IMO.

As to skills vs. collecting. I think they both have their value. We all have interests. I'm into developing new skills and being able to exsist primatively. Currently I'm learning to make bows, and the arrows, and shoot better with them. But its still fun to hold a new shiney knife, and feel the grind on it, and do some cutting with a new tool.

Edited to add: Man, I forgot to mention E3K and those Mississippi knifemakers. If you haven't seen Wilson's stuff, or Erwin, or Al, get busy checking them out. Dang.

This was a fun thread.

Fiddleback is right on. There are some awesome knives coming out of the Makers section of this site. I agree with his list and I would add Ray Laconico and Fiddleback himself (he is probably too modest to say so, but his Nessmuks are AWESOME).

I now have 3 Laconicos and they are all excellent. His knives are just excellent with their tall flat grinds and convex edges.

So next on my list is a Fiddleback Nessie and another Laconico.

DiamondBlade FFD2 knives:

Goddard Miccata and Pinnacle I in ironwood
Pinnacle I and II in stag
Summit in both Ironwood and stag

I'll post photos when they all come in.

I appreciate that Matt. Certainly wouldn't put myself on par with any of the above mentioned guys though.

And you're right about Laconico. I'm lusting for some of his knives. Dang.

Another is Charles May. They're giving one away on Ramanon this year. Man, I want that bad boy.

Definitely agree with getting customs from the great makers on here. I have had excellent dealings with Nick Allen, Robert Dark, Fiddleback, Rick Lowe, Bill Siegle and I still have the forum knife coming from Ironwolf and an awesome custom from Brian Goode that's just about done.

I plan on getting some customs: some from Eddie White, one from Scott Tanguay, and something from Daniel Koster... I look forward to one of his Nessies..... or maybe one from Fiddleback..... time will tell;)

al mar shiva, helle anniversity knife, marbles dal deweese model, sandstorm or mini chute knife from bark river, spyderco moran, kellam ranger puukko.

knives i would like to buy if i hit the lottery, dietmer kresslar chute knife ,kellam kp tommi triple set, case tony bose set(5 knives i believe), bob dozier loveless knife(wicked nice), etc., etc.

Just got the Helle Jubilieum no. 30 knife two weeks ago. What a beauty , from Ragnars Ragweed Forge. I have been breasting ducks with it. Delicious! This week I am checking out the A.G. Russell Lockback and/or Mini Lockback w/vg10 Damascus blades. They are wicked nice! I love hunting and fishing and the outdoors. These are my kind of tools. I want to do bushcraft, also. Camping out in the winter, and the like. I will most probably buy a Marbles Dall Dewees knife for this endevour. Dewees was an adventurer who hunted with Pres. .Teddy Roosevelt. Marbles brought this model out originally in 1902, but replased it with the Outers Knife in 1930. These are the original bushcraft knives.

Too many I am ashamed to say. :D

Some of them include a FK P1, Fiskars Axe and Colapsible saw and a whole range of others. Some I am toying with the idea of buying are some Kuhkris from HI and a weterlings felling axe if I can find one. Oh... and some Moras... lots'a moras (I love the KJ Ericksson 510)

Just got a couple in so ok right now.

I am however thinking about a ZT200 (a lot), assorted Ka-Bars (a bit) and a semi-serrated foliage green Endura 4 (a bit).

Who knows what I'll get, I change my mind like a fart in the wind from one day to the next.:D

Just ordered two moras:
frost 780 triflex
errikson 511 high carbon with a safety orange handle

My girlfriend wants one of them when they arrive now, should have grabbed some more...

A Chris Reeve Classic Small Sebenza...one of the handiest knives on the planet, in my opinion! Going to get one to replace the one I gave to a good friend in law enforcement a couple of years back.

Well, I'd very much like to see the BRKT Golok come out on the market, as that's next on my want list.

/ Karl
