What knives have you "TRIED" to like but just "COULDENT"??

Wanted to really like the ZT 350, but ended up not feeling the speed-safe, the unusable thumbstud (I know it has a flipper, but why have both if you can only use one) and the recurve blade. Mind you, it sliced well enough, just the particulars that got to me. Preferred the manual ZT 200- let that go also because of the recurve blade. Sticking to non-recurve blades except for my kukri.

ESEE 5. I should have known better: I already have a crowbar from Home Depot, I don't need another.

Sage 2, Alias 2, etc. Simply cannot get around to liking frame locks, which is fine because this will no doubt save me large sums of money...

Big Spyderco fan over here, but I never warmed up to the PE Spydies.
Except for the Kiwi IMO a PE Spyderco isn't a true Spyderco.
For me a true Spydie has to be fully serated.
I tried a few PE ones in the past and got rid of them all.
I like the Kiwi though. Mainly because it's kinda mix between the Amercan traditiona slipjoints I like and my beloved Spyderco.

One Spyderco that did nothing for me is the Native. Tried a few but got rid of them all.

Like American Traditionals as well but can't seem to warm up for those multibladed knives(guess it's an European thing)

Yep, the list to long but here's a few:
1. Benchmade Mini Griptilian
2. Buck Vantage Select small
3. Several Rough Riders

Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Shallot, ZT301

I'm with you on the Leek. Probably my biggest disappointment. I like almost everything about the knife except the lack of detent and how poorly it carries for me. Ah well... :/

Its the Spydeco native for me. just cant get over the ergos and blade shape

I didn't like the Native either when I first got it. I wasn't happy with how it forced me to choke up on the choil if I wanted to handle the knife comfortably. After I let that go and just accepted it as a matter of course, I didn't mind it so much. Nice, flat and compact. Still not my favourite though...

Benchmade Griptillian. I know its been harped on a million times, but I still dont like the way the handle feels. It just feels cheap to me.

CRKT KO Ripple (the expensive one) - Well made, well finished, well designed...and I detest it. Not comfortable in my hands and it is a shade of blue that I don't like.

Spyderco Navaja - Nice blade, and very beautiful, but an ergonomic nightmare, at least for me.

Interesting and informative thread. Here are a few that I've bought and quickly discarded....

Spyderco Gayle Bradley - Great F&F but wasn't comfortable for me in hand or pocket
Spyderco Sage 1&2 - again, great quality but too wide/broad for comfortable pocket carry
All Autos (Protech, etc)
Strider SMF - tough knife but heavy and the quality was lacking
BM 940 - love the blade shape but not the aluminum handle & ergo's
BM Mini-Skirmish - just oddly shaped. Not comfortable.
BM Mini-Rukus - too thick and heavy. Even in jeans.
Case Peanuts - small two-spring slipjoints that feel clunky in my pocket.
BM 705/710 - don't know why, just don't feel the love.
Klotzli Sarra - not as comfortable and smooth as I wanted
Mcusta Basic - sharp corners on the liners and only mediocre quality grinds
CRK Mnandi - perfect quality, but just doesn't do it for me.

I think it is worth noting some pleasant surprises as well as the disappointments. These knives have all made the cut for at least a couple of years now, and I still enjoy carrying them all...

Spyderco Military = quite big but outstanding ergos and quality
Endura G10 FFG = perfect for Scout camping (lightweight, thin, great quality, stainless, etc. etc.)
My EDC "Regular" Sebenzas
Case mini-copperheads
RAT/ESEE 6
Buck Vantage Pro
BM 440 Opportunist
Case Sodbuster Jr.
AG Russell Featherlight

You picked some real head scratchers in your "dislike" list DallasSTB. I'm glad there's so many that we're all happy at the end of the day. :)

I know, I know. I wanted to like them all, but there was just something missing. Add that to a healthy dose of A.D.D, and you get some significant knife turnover. :o

Well at least you buy nice folders so I doubt that you lose much dumping your losers. :)
