What knives were so good you bought a duplicate?

AG Russell Hunters Scalpel. I have two for using (one old-style and one current version), and a few variations in the collection.

Victorinox Stylus. We use these at work for operating the PDAs that control our scientific radio imaging instruments. I lost my user and need to replace it, but still have a couple in the Collection in different colors. The trouble is with finding a replacement, since the model is discontinued they've increased in value about 300%. Now they're $15.

Becker BK15, CS Hold Out III. Doesn't hurt that both of those knives have been deeply discounted recently.

Spyderco manix s110v =3, Gayle Bradley=3, pm2=4, griptilian=2, blue endura jigged bone=2. 940-1 =2

Most of my knives are so good I don't have to buy a second, but in the case of my Victorinox Waiter, I am afraid of losing it, so I have a couple of those put away just in case.

Like a few of you here I have a few duplicates of SAK Alox varients, mostly Pioneer/Soldier versions. I also have bought 4 Mora Companions (1 was lost in a fire, 1 is the Heavy Duty variant) but these are the ultimate 'just in case' fixed blade knives that I stow away in bags, vehicles, etc. In a similar vein, I am seriously considering more Ontario RAT II's - I picked one up on a whim before Christmas and it is a REALLY good EDC folder irrespective of the low price...

The only other duplicates for me were/are Spyderco Caly 3.5's and I have two Spyderco Gayle Bradleys too.

That's it (that said, I have a bunch of 3 and 3.5 inch folders and several 3, 3.5 and 4'ish inch fixed blades - oh and two Parangs too!)

More than I thought ;)

Cheers,

Ben

Benchmade Contego, both the CPM-M4 & M390 versions.

Hk Asender, The most underrated, impressive knife for the price I've ever owned.

Benchmade Rukus. One of BM's all time greats.

Benchmade 910 Stryker, another of the all time greats.

Cold Steel XL Voyagers. Some of the hardest workhorse knives you can get. Especially for the price.

Spyderco Manix2 XL. A real standout from Spyderco.

Not a single one. If its a good enough knife, I won't need another.

few years ago, when I was much more comfortable with funds I had:

1. 5 original C83 black micarta bolstered Persians
2. 4 sprints of the same knife
3. 4 original C105 black micarta bolstered 75 mm Persians
4. 3 G10/VG10 Caly3
5. Full set of Kopas (17, I beleive) + few spares
6. numerous doubles.

I still have several doubles...........

Well, I have around 20 mini grips/mini Ritter .. they have different steels and scales but basically the same.. the perfect knife in my opinion..

Up to 8 Kershaw blurs, with more on the horizon I'm sure... (Got a few buck Bantam's too, cuz for the price they're pretty great basic knives).

I have plenty of multiples when it comes to flashlights and guns, but for some reason the only knives I own multiples of are Schrade Golden Spikes(one is from the good old days, the others are recent production) and I have 2 Ontario Rat 1 folders.

I am going to have to change that, but I think it's because the guns and lights are mostly just a tool. Knives have much more personality and there is always another new one on the list to buy

As of now, if I had unlimited funds I would order a Strider SMF, ZT 0562cf, ZT 0452, ZT 0200, Spyderco PM2, Spyderco Military CruWear, Bad Monkey, Esee Junglass, Esee 6, Lionsteel M7 and a pair of BK7s for good measure. I am sick...
